In today’s issue of ‘Myanmar Alin’ newspaper, the translator and article writer Maung Sue San accusingly wrote, in his article, that the Second Pinlon Conference is pointless, hailing the forthcoming Union Day.
He described that the second Pinlon currently mentioned by the NLD is not a reasonable move and only reflects illogical thoughts of those proclaim it, although he “can understand the first Pinlon as a process of seeking institutions” for country’s independence struggles being the period of institutions were needed.

After the last year election, three government buildings in Yangon downtown area are the last in the process of secretly transferring state-owned properties to private companies, by the present regime, before the new government comes into power.

This afternoon, news emerged that Burmese junta’s newly-convened parliaments elected vice-president and retired general U Thein Sein as new President of Burma with 408 votes out of 659. Holding the position of Prime minister appointed by current regime’s War Council, Thein Sein, an ex-general, ran in the last year election for the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP).
It is a matter to keep watch how he will form a government, and who will occupy the minister posts in the Cabinet. According to the junta’s 2008 constitution, the President shall lead the Nation Defense and Security Council regarding the armed forces.

View of a garbage dump in Yangon. A shame or an honor for city?There can be more rubbish seen on roads, streets, and alleyways in Yangon, because the regular collecting system of household rubbish has been slacking off.
At first, municipal garbage van collected the rubbish from every road and lane by ringing a bell (when they come), until around last 4 or 5 years ago. Later, dustmen with trolleys going one street after another cleaned the trash. In those months, fewer garbage collectors came and the previous system of cleaning rubbish daily disappeared, said a resident from Pazondaung township.

Yesterday afternoon, the Burmese community living in Buffalo, New York, USA convened a conference to express support the National League for Democracy, led by Daw Aung Sun Suu Kyi, as a legitimate Burmese political party standing with the recognition from majority of the Burmese.

Government Service Staffs must vote – no excuse

It was reported that some of the high rank officers from government services in Rangoon had ordered their staffs to check their voting status, register to vote and vote without fail on the polling day. They were told to volunteer themselves doing data-collection and running errands at the polling station when needed. They also were told to report their activities back to their supervisors.
USDP holding Road Work Project While forcing local to join their party

As an election campaign promise, Rangoon Mayor, U Aung Thein Lin who runs for 2010 Regime’s Election as USDP candidate, was promising road repair projects in Rangoon. He was accused that he was misusing city’s fund and resources to finance his campaign’s promise.
One of the residents from Tarmwe Township, told MoeMaKa that the mayor was asking for more recruits to his party while he was holding road work project as a bargaining chip to the local residents.

Burmese communities in United States of America from 14 cities and towns announced: “We do not Support the Burmese Military Junta and Its Cronies. We Protest and Condemn the Junta‟s 2010 Election & Pre-determined Outcome”, in their solidarity statement dated 20th October, 2010 (20-10-2010). They also urged the Burmese and democracy activists around the world: “Please share the news and let’s join hand for next action – “Global Protest Campaign against Burmese Regime’s Unrepresentative Election 2010″”.
According to the statement received, it expressed the followings:
Political Parties start campaigning with handing out leaflets in Rangoon

Many campaign leaflets were seen distributed by political parties at the bus stops and public places only 24 days before November election of Burmese regime.
According to local residents from Kyauk-ta-da Township,
“The leaflets were still handed out near Pan-soe-dan bus stop, for candidate of 88 generation student (Union of Myanmar) contesting at constituency of Kyauk-ta-da Township, yesterday evening …”
It surprised some of bystanders and passerby and they seemed more ridiculed when they saw the symbol of the party which was similar to the fighting peacock from the flag of Burmese students union.
