Burmese Judicial System in Chaos

            When the lawyers representing Ko Wai Lin and Ko Nyi Nyi Aung arrived at Insein Prison to represent their clients under detention at the prison’s court, they were told by the authorized spoke person who came out of the restricted grate that there’s no judge today so there’s no court session for them. The lawyers were never notified in advance.

ASEAN urged Burmese Regime to release Daw Aung San Suu Kyi

On Tuesday, May 19, state run media officially informed Burmese public of the trial on Daw Aung San Suu Kyi accusing her of violating her house arrest where the news initially was blanketed out by the Burmese junta.

However the news had already been spread through foreign media and internet and it had already moved international community with concerned reactions.

It was followed by the statement from the ASEAN urging the Burmese regime to release her from captivity.

“Child Aid Foundation – Myanmar”, a charity aid group supporting basic and educational need to orphans left by Nargis Storm in the Delta of May 2008 had recently updated list of children and donors, totaling of 560 parentless children. It was now requesting annual donation and pledge from all the donors for each designated children for the year 2009.

The foundation has started its operation since May 2008 when Nargis storm hit Delta which left almost 2 millions Burmese homeless. It raised funds and did aid work providing shelters, foods, medical and social care with the guidance of Burmese Buddhist monks from various monasteries local and abroad namely, Ngar Gyan Pyan Monastery, Rangoon, Metta Nanda Viraha Monastery, California, USA and U Kusala Monastery, London, UK. It managed to raised fund and charity from Burmese and non-Burmese from international community. Later it focused on supporting orphans from Nargis disaster and managed to aid basic necessity needs to 560 children so far. It provided monthly financial support of US$ 10.00 for each child to care-taker immediate family, friends or sheltering monasteries. The donors chose any child from the list as their recipient of their donation per month or per year basic.
