Uncle Tu Mee – 22/8/22 – Dairy in the darkness

I listened to Khet Zaw’s audio book until the end and fell asleep well all night.

At the end of the story, U Tin Oo, one of U Ne Win’s most trusted security officers, was arrested by U Ne Win’s orders. The author seems to want to give a lesson that anyone who cooperates with the dictator and commits evil will end badly. The purpose, the writing plans, and the  collection of evidence are very good. When the audio book was published as a printed book, young people liked it very much and the book sold very well.

I thought about how good it would be to write about General Khin Nyunt next.

Burma in the darkness has so many frightening, interesting, painful and heartbreaking stories.

I woke up when I heard loud talking voices. It’s about 8:00 am. These voices are coming from  construction workers behind my house. After the coup , the price of land in the suburbs of our city is higher and higher. Also the real estate market is working well. The land, only 40×60 square feet, behind my house has been sold out for 1200 lakhs kyats. Before the coup, there were only 600 lakhs kyats. People are rushing to buy gold and land to keep away from the effects of inflation. As real estate prices rise, the dollar price and the gold price also hit.

When the gold price went up, the goldsmith workshops were closed and then My friend’s taxi, which was rented by the goldsmiths, became jobless. .So their housemaids are not getting paid and they have to go back to their home village. But their home village is burned and destroyed by the regime’s army. Therefore, their family members have been  deserters of war now.

They get a domino effect and their life falls down.

I was sorry to hear about what happened to their family

These kinds of stories  are happening across my country day by day.

In addition to this, with the news that the government has started printing new ten thousand kyat banknotes, the prices of general goods have gone up. Five thousand and Ten thousand kyats notes of fakes are  also being spread and so the traders  have  checked their notes carefully.

Last Friday , a friend who works in a third country sent $100.  So I plan to buy anti-hypertensive medicine and anti-fat medicine for myself. The price of medicine is also skyrocketing along with other things, so I have to buy it while I can.

I went to the K pay money transfer grocery store which is two streets over from where I live. Cash out. It’s okay. The government has ordered that people who take out  money with K pay must be photographed and recorded, but the shopkeeper didn’t even ask for my name.

After that, I went to the pharmacy by bus and bought medicine. When I get on the bus hard, I slip suddenly and  grab a rusty handrail. Their bus repair is not smart, and the footrest is unfit. It ့has been about 4 inches higher than normal.

A young man standing by the bus entrance pulled me into the car. I am about 70 years old, so they have helped me kindly. When the bus started , my body was shaking and I lost my balance. I holed a back chair handrail. Other hand I pressed my pocket where my phone is.

At the time of the military regime’s crop , Pickpocketing was everywhere so I had to   be careful. With a blue  T shirt, a young lady   who had been sitting on the seat next to the handrail ,held me and requested to sit at her seat. But I refused. Another young man with black backpack invited me to sit in his place. Finally, I took the seat he gave me. The torn sofa seat makes me feel comfortable.

I, an old man, who lacked everything and had no hope, recovered new mental strength.

As long as our young people have the spirit to help the weak, we are sure that our country will be redeveloped with new energy.
