  1. Malaysia Pledges to Help Myanmar Restore Its ASEAN Role
    Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia would help Myanmar regain its full role within ASEAN following discussions with military leader Min Aung Hlaing. Both sides also agreed to continue repatriating Myanmar nationals from Malaysia. More than 10,000 have reportedly been returned since early 2026, with thousands more under consideration. The UN and human rights groups have warned of possible persecution and forced military recruitment. Myanmar activists in Kuala Lumpur protested the military leader’s visit.
  2. Myanmar’s UN Ambassador Demands Accountability for Min Aung Hlaing
    Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun called for Min Aung Hlaing to face international justice over attacks on civilians, particularly children. Addressing the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee, he cited UN figures indicating that military airstrikes killed 294 children in 2025. He urged member states to immediately stop supplying weapons, aviation fuel, dual-use equipment, and financial support to Myanmar’s military.
  3. Military Attacks Kill Eight Civilians Across Myanmar
    Military airstrikes and artillery attacks reportedly killed eight civilians and injured more than 20 across Depayin, Mobye, Myaung, Kyauktaw, Salingyi, and Thayetchaung townships. Four family members were killed when bombs struck their home in Depayin, while two civilians died in an airstrike on a corn trading area in Mobye. A monastery in Myaung was also bombed, injuring two monks.
  4. Fighting in Sagaing; Suspected Military Informants Arrested
    Resistance forces reported killing two military personnel and injuring two others during clashes in Indaw Township. One resistance fighter was also killed. In Ye-U, resistance forces attacked a military-aligned column with landmines, although casualties remain unconfirmed. Separately, resistance groups reported arresting suspected military informants and Pyu Saw Htee members in Myothit and Salin townships.
  5. WITCH Claims Destruction of Military Company in Northern Mandalay
    The WITCH resistance drone unit announced that its operations alongside allied forces in northern Mandalay had destroyed an entire military company during August fighting. The group claimed more than 50 military personnel were injured, with additional fatalities. It also urged forcibly recruited soldiers to defect and appealed for continued support to improve its drone technology.
  6. SCEF Condemns Min Aung Hlaing’s Malaysia Visit
    The Steering Council for the Emergence of a Federal Democratic Union (SCEF) strongly criticized Malaysia’s official reception of Min Aung Hlaing, warning that it could legitimize Myanmar’s military authorities. SCEF cited the military’s failure to implement ASEAN’s Five-Point Consensus and urged Malaysia to uphold its commitments to democracy, human rights, and humanitarian principles.
  7. Arakan Army Thanks Groups Condemning Kyauktaw Airstrike
    The Arakan Army (AA) thanked domestic and international organizations for condemning the September 28 military airstrike on Kyauktaw, which reportedly killed 50 civilians and injured 57. The AA described the attack as a serious violation of international humanitarian law and reiterated its intention to respond to attacks targeting civilians.
  8. Police Accused of Impersonating Resistance Groups to Extort Civilians
    Kyaukpadaung Township’s People’s Defense Team accused military-affiliated police officers and informants of impersonating PDF and Pa Ka Pha members to extort money from residents. The suspects allegedly used fake TikTok accounts, Viber messages, and telephone calls to threaten businesses and individuals. Local resistance organizations urged residents to block suspicious accounts and report fraudulent demands.
