m.CDM | October 13, 2026

Myanmar military forces reportedly bombed a vehicle carrying one Chinese national and two Myanmar workers employed at a Chinese natural gas pipeline facility in Ann Township, Rakhine State.

The attack occurred on October 11 while the vehicle was traveling between two facilities along the Ann–Padan road, between Sinkhontaing and Taungzauk villages.

Three people were inside the vehicle, including Chen Jie, a Chinese employee of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). Although no injuries were reported, the vehicle sustained damage.

Chinese authorities had previously warned both the Arakan Army (AA) and Myanmar’s military authorities not to attack vehicles belonging to Chinese companies. Nevertheless, the vehicle was reportedly targeted in an aerial attack.

In a separate incident, military forces reportedly carried out drone strikes on Ngetpyawtaw Village Tract in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, killing two civilians and injuring three others.

According to reports, troops from the Kyaikto-based 44th Light Infantry Division headquarters conducted three drone bombing attacks around midday on October 12, without any apparent provocation.

One man and one woman were killed, three other men were injured, and three houses were damaged in the strikes.

  1. Civilian Killed and Homes Damaged in Military Airstrike on Mindon Township

m.CDM | October 13, 2026

One civilian was killed and several homes were damaged in an airstrike carried out by Myanmar’s military in Mindon Township, Magway Region, according to a statement issued by Thayet District Battalion 4.

At approximately noon on October 12, two paramotor aircraft operating from Defense Products Factory No. 12 (KaPaSa-12), based in Thayet, reportedly dropped eight bombs on Mae Zali village in Mindon Township.

The attack killed 40-year-old U Si Thu, a resident of the village, and destroyed two houses.

Thayet District Battalion 4 accused the military of deliberately targeting civilian residential areas with no military significance and committing war crimes on an almost daily basis.

Earlier, on October 8, another military airstrike in Mindon Township reportedly killed a child and an elderly person and injured three other civilians.

Resistance forces have been attacking military columns attempting to advance into the Rakhine Yoma mountain range from western Mindon Township, near the Rakhine–Magway border.

According to the report, the military has suffered significant losses in these clashes, and resistance sources allege that its attacks on civilians are being carried out in response to those setbacks.

  1. Intense Fighting Along Ann–Mindon Road, Sittwe–Ponnagyun Front, and Indaw–Wuntho Area

m.CDM | October 13, 2026

Intense clashes have reportedly taken place in recent days between Myanmar military forces and the Arakan Army (AA) along the Ann–Mindon road in Rakhine State, with military forces reportedly suffering significant casualties.

On October 8 and 9, AA forces reportedly attacked a column from the military’s 55th Light Infantry Division near Thaphanyaung and Kangyo villages. The column had been advancing from Mindon Township toward Talaing Taung in Ann Township.

During the fighting, the AA reportedly captured military personnel and seized weapons and ammunition.

More than 1,000 military personnel are said to be positioned in the Mindon–Thaphanyaung area, preparing for further offensive operations.

Meanwhile, fighting continues in Sittwe and Ponnagyun townships, where the AA has reportedly captured several military positions around Amyint Kyun and Yay Chan Pyin.

On October 10 and 11, the AA reportedly seized two additional military outposts on Amyint Kyun, bringing the total number of small outposts captured in the area to nine.

The AA has also reportedly captured bunkers near Yay Chan Pyin and is continuing offensive operations against the Shwe Min Gan naval base, defensive positions on Kankaw Island, military posts near the Regional Operations Command, and Infantry Battalion 343.

In another development, intense fighting is reportedly taking place between military columns and combined resistance forces in the area between Indaw and Wuntho townships in Sagaing Region.

A military column that departed from Maeza village in Indaw Township reportedly reached Pa-O and Tat Lwin villages on October 11, where clashes continued.

On the morning of October 12, military aircraft reportedly bombed Kyaung Kone village, which was not involved in the fighting, injuring one child and three women.

As the military column is reportedly advancing toward Wuntho, Kawlin District Battalion 4 has warned local residents to remain especially vigilant against potential airstrikes and advancing ground troops.

  1. Military Accused of Extorting Money from Approximately 50 Political Prisoners in Nawnghkio and Transferring Them to Obo Prison

m.CDM | October 13, 2026

The Justice Network for Political Prisoners (JNPP) has accused Myanmar’s military authorities of imposing unjust sentences on approximately 50 political prisoners in Nawnghkio Township, northern Shan State, transferring them to Obo Prison in Mandalay, and extorting money from detainees.

According to JNPP, the authorities used a bomb explosion at the home of a military-appointed local ten-household administrator named Naung Nge as a pretext to prosecute approximately 50 political prisoners associated with 54 sealed properties.

The Nawnghkio Township Court reportedly conducted mass proceedings resembling military tribunals and imposed unjust sentences on the detainees.

JNPP also alleged that police station chief Myo Nyunt Aung and military personnel have demanded hundreds of thousands of kyats from detainees held at the Nawnghkio detention center.

Even after receiving payments, the authorities allegedly refused to release the detainees and continued sentencing them.

The organization criticized the military leadership for announcing what it described as a symbolic amnesty involving Sections 50(j) and 52(a), while continuing to prosecute people under those same legal provisions.

JNPP described the announcement as deceptive and strongly condemned the alleged unlawful extortion and sentencing practices.

The organization pledged to continue cooperating with relevant groups to seek justice for the victims.

  1. 4.9 Million Myanmar Children Urgently Need Humanitarian Assistance, Says Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun

m.CDM | October 13, 2026

Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, has stated that 4.9 million children in Myanmar urgently require humanitarian assistance, while 1.2 million have been completely cut off from essential vaccinations and healthcare services.

He made the remarks on October 12 during a discussion on children’s rights at the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

According to the ambassador, the military’s increasing airstrikes and artillery attacks have placed millions of children in desperate circumstances.

He explained that military restrictions on humanitarian assistance have deprived approximately 1.2 million children of basic life-saving vaccinations and medical care.

Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun accused Myanmar’s military authorities of deliberately attacking civilian locations, including homes, villages, hospitals, schools, religious buildings, markets, and camps for internally displaced people.

He emphasized that children in Myanmar face not only the risk of death but also family separation, the destruction of homes and schools, food shortages, and a lack of medical services.

Illustrating the severity of the humanitarian crisis, he said:

“An ordinary child may easily ask for a hamburger, but for children in Myanmar, especially those forced to flee to displacement camps against their will, a hamburger has become a luxury.”

The ambassador stressed that Myanmar’s military leaders must be held accountable for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.

He urged the international community not to protect or reward those responsible for such crimes.

Instead, he called for effective use of international accountability mechanisms to ensure justice and help protect Myanmar’s people, particularly its children.

  1. Asho Chin Defense Force Renamed Asho National Organization / Asho National Army (ANO/ANA)

m.CDM | October 13, 2026

The Asho Chin Defense Force (ACDF), established during Myanmar’s Spring Revolution, has officially changed its name to the Asho National Organization / Asho National Army (ANO/ANA).

The ACDF was originally founded on November 16, 2021, in response to the military coup and the subsequent Spring Revolution.

The organization announced its new name on October 12, following a decision reached at its military conference held from September 20 to 24.

According to its statement, the name change reflects several objectives: establishing an autonomous Asho homeland known as “Asho Land,” guaranteeing the Asho people’s right to self-determination, building a democratic federal union based on political and ethnic equality, eliminating all forms of dictatorship, and strengthening Asho national political leadership.

The organization emphasized that the name change does not represent a departure from its original goals.

Instead, it is intended to expand the organization’s responsibilities, operational scope, and ability to represent and serve the interests of the Asho people and the wider public.

ANO/ANA confirmed that all existing relationships, cooperation agreements, and working arrangements established under the ACDF name with government departments, partner organizations, civil society groups, and local communities will remain valid.

The organization has requested that all future official correspondence, administrative matters, coordination activities, and other communications use its new name, Asho National Organization / Asho National Army (ANO/ANA).

It also announced that the former ACDF name, emblem, flag, official seals, and other identifying symbols have been discontinued.

New organizational emblems, a flag, and official seals representing ANO/ANA will be introduced.

The organization called on its existing partners and supporters to continue their cooperation under the new structure.

  1. Thai Authorities Rescue 10 Children, Including Seven Myanmar Nationals, from Human Trafficking Operation in Bangkok

m.CDM | October 13, 2026

Thai authorities have raided a suspected human trafficking operation in Bangkok that allegedly forced illegally transported children to sell flowers on the streets.

Ten children, including seven Myanmar nationals, were rescued during the operation, according to Thai media reports.

In the early morning of October 13, a special operations team from Thailand’s Department of Provincial Administration, known as DOPA S.W.A.T., raided a house on Ramkhamhaeng Soi 122 in Bangkok.

Four suspects were arrested and reportedly charged with human trafficking, unlawful detention, and forced labor.

According to the investigation, the suspects allegedly transported women and children into Thailand through unauthorized border crossings near Mae Sot.

The victims were then forced to sell flowers and drinks along Khao San Road and Non Chan Road from the evening until approximately 3 or 4 a.m.

The operation followed a complaint from a Myanmar woman who had escaped from the house.

She reportedly informed the Thai Mai Thon organization that she had been subjected to forced labor, physical abuse, and rape.

Neighbors also reported suspicious activities at the property, contributing to the investigation and subsequent arrests.

The rescued Myanmar children have been temporarily transferred to a youth welfare shelter in Nonthaburi Province.

Thai authorities are continuing efforts to identify and contact their families.

m.CDM | October 13, 2026

Two men were hospitalized after collapsing in separate heat-related incidents in Mayangon Township, Yangon Region, and Taungoo, Bago Region, on the afternoon of October 13.

At approximately noon, 60-year-old U Soe Win reportedly collapsed from heat-related illness at the Bayinnaung automobile parts market in Mayangon Township.

He was transported to Insein Hospital, where he was reportedly found to have suffered a stroke.

In a separate incident at approximately 2:30 p.m., another man in his 60s lost consciousness in front of the University of Computer Studies in Taungoo.

According to the TERT social welfare organization, the man was transported to Taungoo General Hospital for medical treatment.

Two earlier heat-related deaths were also reported: one in Thaton on October 7 and another in Kyauktada Township on October 12.

Both victims reportedly collapsed on public roads during periods of extreme heat.

In another incident, two young men drowned while swimming in a lake known as Yay Pya Aing, or Blue Lake, located between the Kyin San Kyawt border crossing and Pangsai in Muse Township, northern Shan State.

According to local residents, the two victims, aged 18 and 20, entered the water on October 11 and subsequently disappeared.

Their bodies were recovered on the morning of October 13.

The Kyin San Kyawt border crossing and Pangsai area are currently controlled by the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA).

Local residents have warned that Blue Lake is extremely dangerous because of its deep water and underwater drop-offs.

Visitors have been advised to exercise caution when traveling to the area.
