1. Consolidation of Armed Resistance Forces Under a Unified Command
On November 28, Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than stated that local armed resistance groups must be consolidated under a single chain of command (COC). He made these remarks during the National Unity Government’s (NUG) interim regional administrative central committee meeting (43/2024).
“Administrative functions during the revolution are inherently subordinate to military efforts,” he said, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among all resistance forces to prioritize territorial governance and resource allocation. He urged officials to mobilize local armed forces to operate effectively under a unified command structure.
The meeting also included updates on decisions made in meeting 42/2024 and discussions on pending tasks.
Participants included the Prime Minister, union ministers, deputy ministers, and senior departmental officials.
2. Joint Statement on 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
On November 28, the Ministry of Women, Youth, and Children’s Affairs and the Gender Policy Coordination Committee issued a joint statement to mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
The statement recognized violence against women and girls as a human rights violation and pledged to eradicate it alongside the fight against the junta’s oppression. It called for cooperation to implement gender budgeting, emergency measures, and support mechanisms as outlined in the NUG’s gender policy and broader strategic frameworks. International organizations, including the UN, were urged to participate with strong political commitment.
3. Cooperation with ICC Investigation Confirmed by IIMM
The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) announced its active collaboration with the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor, providing extensive evidence, testimonies, and analyses.
The ICC prosecutor’s request to issue an arrest warrant for Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on charges of crimes against humanity, including the persecution and displacement of Rohingya, is under review. The IIMM reaffirmed its commitment to justice, recognizing the courage of survivors who shared their accounts.
4. PSLF/TNLA Hosts Land and Forestry Policy Exchange
The Pa-O National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) Department of Land and Forestry Conservation organized a two-day policy discussion in a Ta’ang region. Senior PSLF/TNLA leaders, officials from civil society organizations, and CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) employees attended.
Discussions addressed land disputes, forestry policies, and action plans, culminating in the adoption of four resolutions and eleven amendments to the land policy.
5. Justice For Myanmar Welcomes ICC Arrest Warrant Request for Min Aung Hlaing
Justice For Myanmar expressed support for the ICC prosecutor’s request for an arrest warrant against Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. The request addresses crimes committed during the Rohingya crisis, representing a significant step toward justice.
The organization urged swift ICC action to hold perpetrators accountable and ensure justice for victims.
6. Spring Development Bank’s Crypto Holdings Surge Over 90%
The Spring Development Bank announced a 90% increase in the value of its cryptocurrency holdings, particularly Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). Investments were made per the NUG’s Central Bank guidance, aimed at post-revolution reconstruction.
The unrealized gains reflect the strategic and community-driven nature of the revolutionary investment efforts.
