The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) issues a statement condemning the terrorist military council’s air attack on a music festival in Hpakant, Kachin State.
On October 24, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) issued a Statement of Condemnation on the air attack by the terrorist military council on a music festival in Hpakant, Kachin State.
The statement states, “On October 23, 2022, at 8:30 p.m., the “KIO Commemoration Day” music festival being held in Hpakant, Kachin State, was deliberately attacked by the terrorist military with three fighter jets, reportedly killing at least 50 Kachin civilians, including famous singers and artists, and injuring many others. The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) is deeply saddened for the ethnic communities who have fallen in this inhumane attack, the bereaved family members, and the Kachin ethnic people.
This incident is proof that the terrorist regime led by the murderous leader Min Aung Hlaing is deliberately targeting civilians as well as carrying out killings and attacking democracy activists, human rights activists, those who oppose them, and ethnic minorities.
The terrorist regime has continuously been committing arial attacks in Chin State, Karen State, Rakhine State, Sagaing Division, and Kachin State after the incident where its air force intentionally shot and attacked the school in Tabayin Township, Sagaing Division. Similarly, in Sagaing and Magway Divisions, the regime has continued to commit crimes against humanity and war crimes, such as burning people’s homes, falsely accusing and arresting local residents, and inhumane killings.
As a result of the international community’s negligence and inaction against the terrorist and murderous regime that is committing international crimes against humanity, the people of Myanmar who are trying to end the military dictatorship and fight for democracy face brutal terrorist attacks and killings every day. The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) strongly condemns the systematic targeted attacks on civilians by the terrorist regime, and it strongly calls for the world leaders, including the United Nations Security Council, to collaborate with us to protect the lives and basic human rights of the people of Myanmar and to take action against the perpetrators of crimes as soon as possible.”
