The Ministry of Justice of the National Unity Government issued a statement dated October 24 regarding the war crimes committed by the terrorist junta in A Nang Pa in the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) 9th Brigade Area.

The statement states, on October 23, 2022, at around 8:30 p.m., the terrorist military fighter jets bombed and attacked civilians at the music concert held in A Nang Pa, Kachin Independence Army (KIA) 9th Brigade area in Kachin State, to celebrate the anniversary of the 62nd Kachin Independent Organization (KIO) Day, reportedly killing some Kachin artists and many civilians.

In addition, it is stated that the ministry is deeply saddened to learn that at least 100 injured civilians are in a life-threatening situation as the terrorist military is blocking the road near Ginsi Village, preventing them from receiving medical treatment.

The action of the terrorist military is said to be a flagrant violation of the provision of Common Article 3, Protocol II of the Geneva Convention, which states that “Persons taking no active part in the hostilities shall be protected from attack,” and it is clear that the terrorist military has committed a war crime.
