1. Heavy Fighting in Kyaukphyu and Yekyi
Intense clashes continued between the Arakan Army (AA) and junta forces in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State. Reports indicate that more than 40 junta troops were killed and several weapons were seized. Fighting has also escalated in Yekyi and Laymyethna areas of Ayeyarwady Region, where junta forces are relying heavily on airstrikes and artillery support.
2. Eight Civilians Killed in Sagaing and Tanintharyi
At least eight civilians, including a child, were killed in separate attacks by junta forces in Khin-U, Nyaunglebin and Thayetchaung Townships. In Mawtaung, a man who had been detained and tortured by the military managed to escape, while several other detainees remain in custody.
3. Airstrike on IDP Camp in Ramree
A military airstrike on an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Ramree Township, Rakhine State, killed two displaced civilians and injured five others. Local reports say air attacks on civilian areas and displacement sites have increased in recent weeks.
4. Junta Drone Explosion in Thailand Kills Two Migrant Workers
A kamikaze drone launched during fighting near the Thai-Myanmar border reportedly crossed into Thailand and exploded in Tak Province. Two Myanmar migrant workers were killed and three others were injured.
5. Fighting in Dawei Leaves Two Junta Soldiers Dead
Resistance forces reported clashes with a junta column in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region. Two junta soldiers were killed and one officer was injured during the engagements.
6. Ambush in Nganzun
Resistance fighters ambushed a group of soldiers returning from a beer shop in Nganzun Township, Mandalay Region. Four soldiers were reportedly killed, while one resistance fighter lost his life during the operation.
7. Police Commando Captured in Bago
Resistance forces in Oakpho Township captured a police commando and rescued a civilian who had allegedly been forced to serve as a porter for the military. In Sagaing Region, one conscript reportedly defected to resistance forces.
8. Sergeant Arrested After Killing Fellow Soldier
A junta sergeant identified as Yan Naing was captured in Natmauk Township, Magway Region. He is accused of killing a fellow soldier following a dispute over salary payments.
9. Magway Federal Unit Expands Defense Structure
The Interim Magway Federal Unit Government announced that it has formed four temporary defense columns and continues to organize local resistance forces under a unified command structure.
10. CRPH Calls for International Action
The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) urged the international community to stop supplying weapons and aviation fuel to the military junta and to increase support for democratic resistance organizations.
11. Rising Civilian Casualties from Airstrikes
According to the NUG Ministry of Human Rights, military airstrikes have killed 5,752 civilians since 2021, including 760 children. The ministry reported more than 5,500 air attacks and widespread destruction of schools, hospitals and civilian infrastructure.
