Today’s main headlines include:
* KIA allied forces captured Seik Pein village in Indaw Township while fighting continues near Indaw and Mawlu.

1. Fighting Intensifies in Indaw Area
KIA and allied revolutionary forces reportedly captured Seik Pein village in Indaw Township on May 21. Heavy fighting is still ongoing near Indaw and Mawlu along the Shwebo–Myitkyina road.
The junta has reportedly increased airstrikes after suffering losses on the ground. On May 21, Y-12 aircraft bombed villages near Mawlu, killing two men and injuring one woman. Additional air raids continued on May 22.
Revolutionary forces warned civilians remaining in conflict areas to evacuate to safer locations.
2. Airstrike on Kyeintali Injures Nine Civilians
Two junta jet fighters reportedly bombed Ward No. 2 in Kyeintali town, Gwa Township, Rakhine State, on the morning of May 21.
According to reports, nine civilians, including five women, were injured and several homes were damaged.
The Arakan Army stated that the junta continues targeting civilian areas while attempting to regain territory in Rakhine State.
3. Artillery Attack in Tanintharyi Kills One Civilian
In Tanintharyi Township, heavy artillery fired by junta troops reportedly struck Kywe Htein Kone village on May 21.
One man was killed, while a young man and a five-year-old girl were seriously injured.
Local resistance groups said the attack targeted a civilian area near a village school.
4. Four Civilians Killed in Khin-U Drone Attacks
The junta reportedly carried out consecutive drone and air attacks in Khin-U Township, Sagaing Region.
Four civilians, including two women, were killed, while homes and shops were destroyed by fire. Local authorities urged residents to prepare bomb shelters and remain alert for further air attacks.
5. Villages Burned in Bago and Sagaing
Military columns reportedly burned villages and launched drone attacks in Okpho Township, Bago Region, and Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region.
Thousands of residents have fled due to ongoing clashes and security concerns.
6. Northwestern Military Command Attacked
The Northwestern Military Command headquarters in Monywa was reportedly attacked with 107 mm rockets by allied resistance groups.
The NUG Ministry of Home Affairs stated that multiple rockets exploded inside the compound, causing casualties and damage.
7. AA Rejects Rohingya Massacre Allegations
The Arakan Army denied accusations made in a Human Rights Watch report alleging the killing of Rohingya civilians in Htan Shauk Khan village in 2024.
AA spokesperson U Khaing Thukha called the allegations politically motivated and aimed at gaining international funding.
8. Yaw Army Warns Against Sharing Military Information
The Yaw Army announced that fighting remains intense along the Pauk–Ta Pyin–Kyaukhtu road in Magway Region.
The group warned civilians and media outlets not to share military movements or battle-related images online for security reasons.
9. Bago PaKaFa to Form Special Combat Battalions
The Bago Region People’s Defense Organization announced plans to reorganize local PaKaFa units into special combat battalions to improve coordination and combat effectiveness.
Basic military training will also be provided to new recruits.
10. Travel Restrictions Due to Military Tensions
Resistance groups imposed temporary travel restrictions on the Thayet–Mindon road and in parts of Chin State because of increased military activity.
Residents were advised to avoid unnecessary travel and remain alert for air and artillery attacks.
11. New Conscription Soldier Defects
A newly recruited conscription soldier reportedly defected to resistance forces in Bago Region on May 20.
Resistance groups encouraged more soldiers and police officers to defect and join the public.
12. Sagaing Federal Unit Supports PDF Operations
The Sagaing Federal Unit Interim Government announced that it provided an initial 150 million kyats to the PDF Sagaing Region Military Command for military operations.
Officials said the support is part of broader efforts to strengthen revolutionary activities and regional administration.
