⸻ - Military Regains Control of Falam and Surbung Airport

The military council has reportedly regained control of Falam town and Surbung Airport in Chin State on the morning of April 25, after they had been held by Chin resistance forces for about a year.
The military carried out heavy airstrikes until around 10:30 PM on April 24, and advanced into the town and airport the next morning.
Since October 2025, the military had launched an offensive with around 1,000 troops in four columns. During nearly seven months of fighting, they made extensive use of airstrikes, drones, and heavy artillery.
Casualties on the military side are estimated at over 500, including officers. Resistance forces reportedly seized over 300 weapons, but also suffered more than 50 casualties.
The military now controls Infantry Battalion 268 base and Surbung Airport, though clashes continue in some parts of the town.
Falam had previously been under the control of Chin Brotherhood (CB) and Chinland Council (CC) joint forces since April 2025.
⸻ - KNLA and Allies Capture Bawdar Military Camp

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and allied forces captured the Bawdar military camp located between Bokpyin and Pyigyimandaing towns in Tanintharyi Region.
The camp, which had been occupied by the military for over two years, was seized around 3 PM on April 24 after troops fled.
The KNLA Brigade 4 Battalion 203 launched the offensive on April 20. Drone strikes conducted on April 18 and 21 killed 5 soldiers and damaged bunkers and supply depots.
⸻ - Drone Attack in Hpakant Kills 12 Soldiers

In Hpakant Township, Kachin State, a military base stationed at an old hospital compound near Lone Khin golf course was attacked by KIA-led forces using drones.
Three drone bombs struck the compound on the morning of April 25, killing 12 soldiers. Bodies and injured personnel were transported to a nearby military facility.
A similar drone attack on April 23 reportedly killed at least 10 more soldiers in nearby areas.
Meanwhile, resistance forces attacked a military base in Myaung town around 7 AM, engaging in a 15-minute firefight. Two soldiers were injured, and resistance forces withdrew without casualties.
⸻ - Attack on Natmauk Checkpoint Leaves 4 Soldiers Dead

Resistance forces attacked a military checkpoint at the entrance of Natmauk town in Magway Region, killing 4 soldiers.
The attack occurred around 4 PM on April 24 and lasted about 45 minutes. Key structures including bunkers and a watchtower were destroyed.
The military responded with heavy weapons and drones, forcing resistance forces to withdraw. Two resistance fighters sustained non-critical injuries.
⸻ - Military Column Targeted by Drones for Over 20 Days

A military column departing from Gonnyaing Seik village in Thayetchaung Township was tracked and attacked by drone units for over 20 days.
From March 29 to April 19, resistance drone teams carried out daily strikes using multirotor and fixed-wing drones.
Multiple resistance units participated, while also providing humanitarian aid to displaced civilians affected by military airstrikes.
⸻ - Soldier Defects with Weapons in Gangaw

A newly recruited soldier from Infantry Battalion 50 in Gangaw defected with weapons and ammunition.
He brought an MA-3 rifle, magazines, grenades, and ammunition, and was rewarded with 5 million kyats.
From January 2025 to mid-April 2026, a total of 3,025 soldiers have defected, surrendered, or been captured, according to available data.
⸻ - 9 Civilians Killed in Military Attacks

In Nanmaikone Township (Karenni State), a drone strike killed 5 civilians, including two men who died instantly and a 19-year-old woman who later died from injuries.
Additional civilian casualties were reported in Hpakant and Pauk townships. Three bodies were found in Hpakant, and one woman was killed in a separate shooting incident.
In Pauk Township, helicopters dropped around 10 bombs on an oil field area without active fighting, destroying civilian homes.
⸻ - Water Aid Provided to Dry Zone Villages

Resistance groups are delivering water to drought-affected villages in central Myanmar.
Due to high fuel costs, transporting water is expensive—about 180,000 kyats per truck. Extreme heat and security risks also complicate distribution.
Donations are being requested to support ongoing water relief efforts.
⸻ - Martial Law Declared in 60 Townships

The military declared martial law in 60 townships on April 23, including 5 towns reportedly controlled by PDF forces.
However, some areas under resistance control were not included, and analysts say the declaration does not reflect ground realities.
⸻ - “Proof of Life” Rally Planned in New York
m.CDM, April 25
A public rally will be held in New York City on May 2 (4–6 PM) at Foley Square to demand proof that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is alive and to call for the release of all political prisoners.
The event will also show public support for the Federal Democracy Charter and SCEF.
Organizers urge Myanmar communities to join and raise global awareness.
