1. NUG will commemorate 16 days of activism to End Violence Against Women and Girls from November 25 to December 4, beginning with an opening speech by Acting President Duwa Lashi La
The National Unity Government will commemorate 16 days of activism campaign, which runs every year from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day).
The event will begin with the opening speeches of Acting President Duwa Lashi La, Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, and Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt.
The 16 days of activism campaign “UNiTE! Activism to End Violence against Women and Girls!” will be broadcast live on the Facebook pages of the National Unity Government (NUG), the Ministry of Women, Youths and Children Affairs, and other media pages.
2. CRPH Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt says that the people’s participation in this Spring Revolution is unprecedented in Myanmar’s history
U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chairman of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), said the following at the “Political Sector Public Meeting” held on November 23:
“Never before in our country’s history has public participation in politics been as strong as it is today. At the same time, in my view, there has never been such a state of unity between our ethnic forces as well as among the people as there is today. To be clear, the enemy is already the same, and the goal is also the same.”
Following the unjust military coup on February 1, 2021, the Spring Revolution emerged along with the civil disobedience movements against the military dictatorship.
3. NUG Union Minister Dr. Sasa says that the continuing crimes committed by the terrorist military leader Min Aung Hlaing and his terrorist organization must be stopped
In the last week of November, Union Minister Dr. Sasa tweeted regarding the burning of civilian houses and the killing of civilians by the terrorist military as follows:
“The genocidal junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and his terrorist organization SAC continues to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity against the innocent people of Myanmar. This has to stop.”
The terrorist military group arrested more than ten thousand people and killed more than two thousand.
4. Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng says that the military dictator not only mistreats the people but also exploits the natural resources for his own benefit and makes management mistakes
Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng penned the preface to “Analysis of the Destruction of Myanmar’s Natural Resources During the Period of Military Rule: Minerals and Gems Sector.”
“The military dictator not only mistreats the people. It is a sight to see that the military dictator is exploiting the natural resources for his own benefit, making management mistakes, and taking over the resources for their own interests, and the people are not benefiting from the natural resources but are facing damages,” Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng wrote.
Since the military coup on February 1, 2021, natural resources in Myanmar have been manipulated and sold by the terrorist military junta group.
5. The Security and Defence Committee of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Ministry of Communications, Information and Technology of the National Unity Government (NUG) held the “Cyber Security Awareness Session”
The Cyber Security Awareness Session was held via video conference in the evening of November 23.
First, U Zay Latt, Chairman of the Security and Defence Committee, delivered an opening speech in which he stated that the role of information and technology in the spring revolution is critical, and the committee intends to collaborate with the Ministry of Communications, Information, and Technology to share technical knowledge.
Then, Dr. Katherine from the Department of Technology and Cyber Security explained the safety of communication devices and personal information, the establishment of rules to be followed for technical security, and the points that should be observed to ensure that cyber security and information are not leaked.
The chairman, secretary, and members of the Security and Defence Committee, representatives of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, representatives of States and Divisions Hluttaw, members of the affairs committees, Dr. Katherine and the office team of the Department of Technology and Cyber Security under the Ministry of Communications, Information, and Technology attended the discussion.
6. An ex-serviceman of the military was shot in front of his house in Bogyoke Ywar in Yangon when he was watering plants
On November 24 at around 8:00 a.m., Zaw Naing Win, a retired Colonel from the military, was shot in front of his house at the corner of Kankaw Myaing Street and Ingyin Myaing Lane 4 in Thuwanna 23 ward in Thingangyun Township and reportedly died from 2 gunshots.
It is known that retired colonel Zaw Naing Win received support from the military council, was the head of the informant group for the regime, led in the arresting and killing of the people’s resistance group members, and was also the son-in-law of Tike Soe, who was a minister in the era of the Burma Socialist Programme Party.
“Right now, there is a lot of military and police presence there,” a resident told Radio NUG.
Bogyoke Ywar, meaning “generals’ village,” in Thuwanna ward in Yangon, is a ward where retired army officers live, and most of them have reportedly moved to Nay Pyi Taw.
7. Villages in Khin-U Township were invaded and destroyed by the terrorist military
It is reported that the terrorist military invaded and destroyed villages in Khin-U Township, Sagaing Division.
According to the Khin-U Armed Revolutionary Force, the terrorist military column that had arrived in Thauk Kan Village has burned down the village on the morning of November 24.
It states, “The Infantry Column-1 that spent last night in Mon Hla Village in Khin-U Township is still in the village. The Infantry Column-2 that was temporarily camped in Baoe Village is approaching Shin Min Htway Village near Inn Taing Gyi Village, and the Infantry Column-3 is in Thauk Kan Village and burning Thauk Kan Village.”
It is reported that hundreds of military council troops have invaded villages in Khin-U Township, burning civilian houses and looting valuable properties.
8. Pattaw Police Station in Moe Nyo Township was exploded by placing cluster bombs around it, burning down the entire police station
On November 24, the Bago Region PDF released an attack report.
It states, “On November 22, at around 9:00 p.m., the Moe Nyo Township people’s defence force (Moe Nyo PaKaHpa) attacked the police station in the Pattaw area of Moe Nyo Township, Thayarwaddy District, Bago Division as part of Operation Nan Htike Aung, burning down the entire police station. The defense forces attacked the police station by placing cluster bombs around it, and there were seven policemen in the police station who later ran away without daring to fight back.”
The operation was reported to be successful, and the members of the people’s defence force were able to retreat without harm.
9. The KNDF has announced the indefinite closure of the Shadaw-Loikaw road for security reasons, and the public is advised not to use it
On November 24, the Battalion-14 of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force KNDF released a notification statement.
The statement states, “Due to the military tensions, from today, November 24, 2022, people are advised not to travel along the main road between Shadaw and Loikaw.”
The defense forces have issued road safety warnings because the military junta expands its military forces and enters and passes through convoys by using public roads.
