MoeMaKa

September 30, 2008

MoeMaKa – Burmese news group at the bay is going to publish a book with collections of articles by U Win Tin. It was arranged by his old friend, poet and critic in exile, Maung Swan Yi back in 2005 with his foreword written for the book. It was delayed due to unfavorable circumstances but after U Win Tin released recently from prison, it is going out in print in coming October 2008.

It was included with the articles written by his colleague and friends such as Aung San Suu Kyi, poet Tin Moe (passed away in 2006), Maung Swan Yi, Win Pe, Ludu Sein Win, Zin Linn and some others of their personal reflection on U Win Tin. The remaining part of the book itself was arranged with selection of articles by U Win Tin on Burmese journalism.

MoeMaKa has expressed its thanks and gratefulness to all the volunteer artists and team members who has helped this book into publication starting from 2005 until 2008. This book is dedicated to U Win Tin and fellow journalists and writers of Burma who stand strong for the struggle for freedom of press and expression under the brutal and oppressive military dictators since 1988 political uprising of Burma.

MoeMaKa has published not only this book but also in July, published a book honoring Burmese journalist and writer, Kyemon U Thaung (Aung Bala) who passed away back in April 2008. It is made clear that all the sale and benefit of the books that published from MoeMaKa will be used for supporting the writers and journalist and their families who stood strong for the struggle for freedom of press and expression in Burma, assisting their works to be able to publish and post to outside world and to show the solidarity of the Burmese journalists and writers from both side of the Burma, inside Burma and in exile.

There’s no price tag on the book but suggested donation is US 10 $ at least. The book cover was illustrated by his fellow artist, Win Pe.
