Today’s headlines include:

  1. A junta airstrike on a monastery in Seik Khun village, Shwebo Township killed two monks and injured eight novice monks and five civilians; during intense fighting in Hpakant, junta troops killed four men and dumped their bodies at the Ma Shi Ka Htaung junction.
  2. The Rebel Bees – UAV Force drone team successfully recorded soldiers mockingly dancing before the fall of Lay Kay camp.
  3. The CNO/CNDF says they are fighting resolutely with allies to prevent Falam from falling back into junta control.
  4. In Thaton Township, a junta reinforcement column was attacked and some weapons and ammunition were seized.

  5. Junta Airstrike on Monastery in Shwebo Township Kills Two Monks, Injures Civilians
    m.CDM – April 14
    At around 3:20 PM on April 13, a jet fighter from Meiktila Air Base circled over Seik Khun village and Than Zin village school in Shwebo Township before dropping five bombs, according to local sources.
    Two monks were killed, while eight novice monks and five civilians were injured.
    A bomb struck the Taik Thit monastery in Seik Khun village. Two monks aged 29 and over 50 were hit by shrapnel; one died on the spot, and the other died while being transported to Shwebo Hospital.
    Eight novice monks were injured, and monastery buildings including dormitories, dining halls, and wells were damaged.
    Similarly, Than Zin village school was bombed, injuring a pregnant woman (with a leg wound), one man, and three other civilians. The school and nearby homes were also damaged.
    On that same day, the junta carried out five airstrikes on Seik Khun, Than Zin, and Ponnar Kone villages.
  6. Four Men Killed and Dumped in Hpakant Amid Heavy Fighting
    m.CDM – April 14
    At around 2:00 PM on April 14, in Hpakant Township, Kachin State, near the Shwe Myanmar fuel shop at the Ma Shi Ka Htaung junction, junta troops reportedly dumped four male bodies showing gunshot and blunt force injuries.
    The identities of the victims are still unknown. Although there are missing persons, locals are too afraid to approach or retrieve the bodies.
    Junta forces have been arresting civilians, interrogating suspects under torture at military bases, and dumping bodies afterward, according to reports.
    Fighting intensified on April 13 when junta troops, along with Pyu Saw Htee militia, SNA forces, and newly trained soldiers, launched an assault on Ma Shi Ka Htaung hill, which is controlled by KIA and KPDF forces.
    On April 14, the junta reinforced troops and supplies via Y-8 aircraft to San Kywel village and reportedly sealed off the area while arresting suspects.
    Despite heavy casualties, junta forces continue reinforcements, raising the likelihood of continued escalation. Resistance forces have issued warnings about airstrikes and artillery risks.
    Locals have been urged to remain highly cautious and avoid excessive celebrations during the Thingyan period.
  7. Repeated Airstrikes in Bilin Township Injure Civilians, Destroy Homes
    m.CDM – April 14
    In Bilin Township, Karen State (KNU-controlled area), junta forces carried out repeated airstrikes using jet fighters and Y-12 aircraft, injuring seven civilians and destroying vehicles, a fuel station, and many homes, according to KNU.
    Between 4:16 PM and 4:50 PM on April 4, four bombing runs and machine-gun fire injured five travelers resting at a religious site near Kyaiktiyo.
    Vehicles and religious statues were damaged, and forest fires broke out.
    Later that night, airstrikes targeted displaced civilians taking shelter in Chaung Phyar.
    On April 6, further strikes hit Lay Kay village, damaging many homes and plantations.
    On April 9, a 300-pound bomb damaged a monastery ordination hall.
    On April 10, over 60 bombs were dropped in multiple attacks, destroying homes and causing fires.
    Additional strikes on April 11 destroyed a fuel station and more homes.
    Civilians have been forced to flee, and urgent humanitarian aid is needed, according to KNU.
  8. Junta Reinforcement Column Attacked in Thaton Township
    m.CDM – April 13
    In Thaton Township, Karen State, a junta column advancing to reinforce Pinne Taw and Win Ta Pan camps was ambushed by KNLA Battalion 2 and allied forces.
    The junta column suffered casualties, and some weapons and ammunition were seized.
    The clash occurred early on April 13 between Naung Ka Dut and Purrit Kho villages.
    Junta forces, including DKBA troops led by Bo Bi, are attempting to reinforce positions, but fighting remains intense.
  9. Drone Team Records Soldiers Mocking Before Fall of Lay Kay Camp
    m.CDM – April 14
    During drone operations targeting Lay Kay camp in Bilin Township, the Rebel Bees – UAV Force recorded soldiers mockingly dancing.
    The operation, led by FFD Drone Force along with allied resistance groups, began in the second week of April.
    Footage shows three soldiers dancing to Thingyan music in a mocking manner toward incoming drones.
    After drone strikes destroyed their generators and nearly 200 bombs were dropped, allied forces captured the camp at 8:00 AM on April 12.
    The operation involved PDF, KNLA, KNDO, ABSDF, FFD, BPLA, and other allied forces.
  10. CNO/CNDF Vows to Defend Falam with Allies
    m.CDM – April 14
    The Chin National Organization / Chin National Defense Force (CNO/CNDF) stated on April 13 that they are working with allies to firmly defend Falam from falling back into junta hands.
    They emphasized this is a निर्णायक moment to both preserve gains and prevent recapture.
    The successful capture of Falam was described as one of the most significant achievements in five years of resistance.
    CNO/CNDF reaffirmed their commitment to continue fighting until the end goal—overthrowing dictatorship and establishing Chin self-determination—is achieved.
  11. Crackdown on Modified Exhaust Motorcycles in Launglon Township
    m.CDM – April 14
    In Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, local People’s Administration, Defense, and Security teams jointly inspected and took action against motorcycles fitted with loud exhausts.
    The crackdown took place on February 12 against riders causing public disturbance.
    Confiscations were made, and offenders were required to sign pledges not to repeat the violation.
    Authorities urged the public to avoid installing noisy exhausts and to follow local regulations.
