1. The military council’s lackeys killed the Pwintphyu NLD executive

According to the township executive committee official, a member of the NLD executive committee in Pwintphyu township, Magway province, was killed by lackeys of the military council. On December 4 at around 5:00 p.m., 45-year-old U Win Htay was killed by a group of armed men at the entrance of Thitchokone village in Pwintphyu township while returning from Magway for family health matters.

“It is believed that he was abducted by the Pyu Saw Htee from Kyaukkonekyi village, and that when family members went searching, they discovered U Win Htay’s body in the forest north of the village,” said an NLD executive in Pwintphyu township. Following the coup in 2021, the NLD executive U Htay Naing and a party member were killed with knives by around 30 military council supporters in the village, but the perpetrators were not identified or prosecuted.

 

2. The bodies of 13 Rohingyas captured by the military group have been discovered

The bodies of 13 Rohingya were discovered on a deserted road between Shwe Nant Thar and Ngwe Nant Thar villages, near the intersection of Hlegu and Mingaladon townships in Yangon Region, on December 5. According to Yangon Khit Thit News Sources, the terrorist army apprehended the 13 Rohingyas in late November, killed them on the night of December 4, and dumped their bodies. Local residents said that military council troops in the area threatened to arrest them if word spread about the body’s discovery. Some local news agencies close to the military council described those dead bodies as Bengalis. According to the report, photo evidence of 13 Rohingya youths killed by the military council and Pyu Saw Htee has been posted on a Telegram channel. Prior to this incident, the military council’s press releases in late November revealed that 71 Rohingya men and women had been arrested.

 

3. Three revolutionary comrades were injured during mine clearance in Demoso

On December 1, the Karenni Revolutionary Forces reported that three soldiers were injured while recovering and clearing the area of Konethar village in Demoso city, Karenni state. Three KRU soldiers were injured on the third day of mines clearance. According to the person in charge of the KRU, one of the three wounded was slightly injured and is currently in a non-critical condition. The Karenni Revolutionary Forces and the KGZ Volunteer Army are clearing mines and making preparations in Konethar village. Due to of the dangerous situation there, local PDFs and residents have been advised not to travel and to travel only after being informed.

 

4. “Profile Photo Campaign” for those who sentenced to death for beliefs

On November 30, 2022, the terrorist group sentenced seven Dagon University students to death, including Ko Khant Zin Win, Ko Thura Mg Mg, Ko Zaw Lin Naing, Ko Thiha Htet Zaw, Ko Hein Htet, Ko Thet Paing Oo, and Ko Lin Khan Mg Mg. Imposing the death penalty is incompatible with human rights standards, also there are international restrictions on the death penalty. In Myanmar, more than 140 people have been sentenced to death, and four prominent people have been brutally executed.

The leaders of the “Profile Photo Campaign” stated that it is critical to stand in solidarity with the students sentenced to death for campaigning for democracy, including seven Dagon University students, and to strongly condemn the military council’s arbitrary death sentences. “This military group employs killing as a weapon and violates each individual’s right to life. They ignore international human rights standards and limit democratic rights.
