Union Prime Minister, Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, says that all kinds of measures must be taken to prevent such incidents like Let Yet Kone, Tabayin, from happening again

At the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held on September 22, Union Prime Minister, Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, added the following: that every day there was good news and also bad news on the ground; that he was saddened by the incident of Let Yet Kone, Tabayin, it was the worst incident; that arrangements were being made for the actions needed for the incidents; that international assistance is required and, at the same time, everyone must try all kinds of ways to prevent such kinds of incidents from happening again; and that security measures must be taken together by the Ministries of Defense, Home Affairs and Immigration.

Consecutively, the Union Prime Minister inquired about the state of implementation of prisons in the NUG’s legal development sector. The Union Prime Minister said that how’s the judiciary managing the prisons to hold those arrested criminals; that it is time to focus more legal matters; that what are the challenging issues in the judiciary sector; that in addition to the three “Ka” regions [Katha Township, Kawlin Township, and Kanbalu Township], there were also expanded townships that needed to be worked on; and that diligent cooperation was needed for the issues to be carried out in Chin and Karen States.

At present, courts have been established in 24 townships.

The meeting was led by Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khiang Thann, Chairman of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC), and was attended by U Lwin Ko Latt, Vice-Chairman of ILACC and Union Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration, as well as Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and relevant officials from various departments, who are the members of the central committee.

On September 22, the Ministry of Human Rights released a statement on terrorism in the villages of Ye-U townships, Sagaing Region.

According to the statement, on July 28, 29, and 30 of 2022, the terrorist military raided the villages of Myo Gyi, Zee Gone, and Tine Tane Yan, in Ye-U Township, Sagaing Region, and a total of 29 villagers were violently killed.

The military council troops burned down 314 houses, 359 shops, a MPT office, and a monastery in Tine Tane Tan Village. The perpetrators of the terrorism were troops under the North Western Regional Military Command, including the 33rd Light Infantry Division.

U Kyaw Zaw, Spokesperson of the Office of the Acting President, said that the National Unity Government has already started working to take legal action under international law against the terrorist military’s air attacks using helicopters in Tabayin Township.

U Kyaw Zaw told Radio NUG that the NUG government has received solid evidence of terrorist attacks in Let Yet Kone, Tabayin Township, committed by the terrorist military junta.

“Among various international condemnations of the Let Yet Kone incident, the previous day, the EU Ambassador to ASEAN and Special Envoy to Myanmar expressed his strong condemnation and called for an independent investigation. The international community is demanding to take action against all the perpetrators of the incidents.”

On September 23, the Depeyin PDF, a local defense force in Tabayin Township, said that the situation of those seriously injured children abducted by the terrorist military has not yet been known. The Depeyin PDF called for the International Red Cross and the UNIECF to help find out the true situation of 20 people abducted, including 3 teachers and 11 children, and to help the injured children meet their families.

On September 23, the Kotaungbo Revolution KTB-R, a local defense force in Kanbalu Township, confirmed that a military column containing about 70 soldiers, who were stationed in Koe Taung Boet Village, north of Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division, was hit by mines on the way to Kawlin Township last night.

It states, “The damage is not yet known. This morning, they were near Kyoet Khon Village, Kawkin Township, and there is a report that half of them have reached Kawlin town.”

It is reported that the military column that departed from Koe Taung Boet Village to the east of Kine Ma Village has reached Kyauk Me Tung Village, west of Hte Htee Hlyo Village, Kawlin Township, and it contains 79 soldiers and 4 civilian hostages.

On September 23, the Freedom Joker Assault Team reported its first operation.

It states, “In our first performance in Kyauktaga Township, Nyaunglebin District, Bago Division, on September 20, at around 9:58 p.m., the military troops presented four rifles, 109 rounds of MA ammo, and 114 rounds of carbine ammo to honor our Joker team for our outstanding performance, and there were three soldiers who died.”

It is reported that the attack killed three soldiers, and one escaped with serious injuries.
