The Security and Defense Committee of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration of the National Unity Government (NUG) had a meeting

On October 19, the Security and Defense Committee of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration of the National Unity Government (NUG) had a meeting on the issues related to public security cooperation.

At the meeting, U Zay Latt, Chairman of the Security and Defense Committee, gave an opening address and encouraged more cooperation between the committee and the ministry for the public security sector in accordance with the procedures for the success of the spring revolution Then, officials from the ministry explained the activities of the ground administration, the formation of people’s security forces, and activities carried out in connection with the people’s defense forces.

After that, the committee members exchanged views on the ground situations such as the law enforcement issues and issues relating to people’s administration groups, and made suggestions on matters that should be continued to work together between the committee and the ministry in a balanced way.

Chairman, secretary and members from the Security and Defense Committee; and Permanent Secretary, Associate Permanent Secretary, Director General and office team from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration attended the meeting.

 

The NUG Minister of Federal Union Affairs, Dr. Lian Hmung Sakhong, had a meeting with the Chairman of the National Research Council, Korea

On October 19, Dr. Lian Hmung Sakhong, Union Minister of Federal Union Affairs of the National Unity Government, met with Mr. Jung Hae Gu, Chairman of the National Research Council (NRC) for Economic, Humanities and Social Sciences, Korea to discuss the issues of Myanmar.

At the meeting, the Union Minister expressed his deep gratitude to the National Research Council, Korea, for its enthusiastic support regarding the current affairs of Myanmar and stated that the inability of young people, university students, and children to continue their education due to the inhumane actions of the terrorist military led by Min Aung Hlaing in Myanmar is of particular concern, and that the National Unity Government considers education as a key issue for the future of Myanmar. Furthermore, the Union Minister clarified the ways in which the State Research Council of Korea can provide support for Myanmar.

The Chairman of the National Research Council (NRC), Korea, Mr. Jung Hae Gu, also said that the NRC has been continuously monitoring the issues of Myanmar’s democracy for a long time; that he is particularly saddened by the situation in Myanmar after the coup; and that he is looking for ways to support Myanmar’s education, which is being destroyed by the terrorist military council. Mr. Jung Hae Gu expressed his gratitude to the Minister for the opportunity to meet him in person, and both sides had a fruitful discussion on the issues regarding the future cooperation between the NUG government and the NRC, Korea.

 

Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun says that Myanmar military has never been transparent with their past chemical weapon programme

Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, stated at the Thematic Discussion on “Other Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs)” at the First Committee of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly held on October 19.

“The military has never been transparent with their past chemical weapon programme, and also failed to be a good partner for nuclear disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation. What is more, not only the history but also what they are brutally and inhumanely committing against the innocent civilians of Myanmar explain the world that they will not hesitate to pose any serious threats against our people and beyond.” — Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun stated.

Moreover, the ambassador also stated that Myanmar reaffirmed its commitments to building a world free of all weapons of mass destruction.

 

Deputy Minister Daw Ei Thinzar Maung says that the contribution to the spring revolution funds will not go to waste

At the Tumi Lottery Talks organized by the Chin Relief Funding Program on October 19, Daw Ei Thinzar Maung, Deputy Minister of Women, Youths and Children’s Affairs, said, “Our fundraising programs are being supported, which is being praised internationally, by all kinds of people, including women, young people, and even rear revolutionary comrades. Some of them contributed to the revolution fund not because they had money, but they participated with their daily wages. This money does not go to waste; it flows properly to the revolutionary forces.”

The funds from revolutionary fundraising campaigns such as the spring lottery, Tumi lottery, EOD shares, and special treasury bonds are being used to support the CDMers and the revolutionary forces.

 

 

The National Unity Government is investigating the bomb blasts at Insein Prison and it declares that whoever commits acts that harm civilians will be prosecuted according to the law

On October 19, the National Unity Government announced that the Insein Prison bomb blasts are under investigation, and that legal action will be taken against those who committed actions that harmed civilians.

The announcement stated, “The National Unity Government is saddened to learn of the two explosions and gunfire at Insein Prison at around 9:40 a.m. on October 19, 2022, that caused the deaths of at least five civilians who came to visit and deliver parcels to prisoners, in addition to the prison staff.

It is also learned that the mothers and family members of the political prisoners were among the innocent victims killed in the explosion and gunfire since that day was the day that the political prisoners who had been unjustly arrested in Insein Prison appeared at the court hearing and the day that their family members could visit and deliver parcels to them.

The National Unity Government is investigating the details of the incident as well as the causes of deaths of those civilians.

No matter which group commits any act that harms the civilian population, the National Unity Government will not only condemn it but will also make it mandatory to prosecute any organization or individual who committed it, according to the law.”

According to the recent reports, prison visits, parcel deliveries, and court hearings are temporarily banned today at Insein Central Prison, and it is yet unknown how long the ban will be in effect. The report said there was no notice in front of the prison, but the news was confirmed by the prison staff on duty.

 

The Muniment Production Force-MPF (Taze) will produce the single-shot shotguns that can be used in guerilla missions in serial number orders

In October, the Muniment Production Force-MPF (Taze), one of the local people’s defense forces in Taze Township, declared, “The Muniment Production Force-MPF (Taze) has produced a better, compact, lighter and stronger single-shot shotguns unlike the previous ones. This type of single-shot shotgun is designed to extract the spent cartridge automatically after firing by breaking open the barrel on its hinge, so it can be used more effectively in guerrilla missions.”

It is also said that each gun will contain a logo and will be produced in serial number order.

The Muniment Production Force-MPF (Taze) is among the revolutionary forces resisting the military dictatorship.
