At the meeting of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held on August 25, Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann made remarks to take measures to ensure not to overburden the people in tax collection; to cooperate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to resolve the difficulties in the judicial sector; and to work together in inter-ministerial cooperation, in addition to ministry-specific tasks.

At present, there are small businesses that pay taxes to the National Unity Government, and the Internal Revenue Department is focusing on the safety of the businesses.

The wrongful killing of civilians is a crime and will be prosecuted under the law — said Human Rights Minister U Aung Myo Min regarding Radio NUG’s inquiry on August 26.

At around 8:00 pm on August 21 (Sunday), U Khin Maung Lin and his family members were accused of being “Dalan” (junta-back informants) and assassinated by a group of armed men in the city of Saw, killing six and injuring two others.

The lucky draw ticket for the wood carving created by Ko Htein Linn, the younger son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, is selling for US$ 100 each.

All proceeds from ticket sales of lucky draw tickets will be fully donated to the revolution against injustice and to the people affected.

The local defense force, Young Force, said, “At around 6:00 am on August 26, we entered and arrested Major Aung Zaw Oo at No.5 Cotton and Textile Factory in Pakokku New Town, Magway Division. During the arrest, he refused to surrender and fired back at the people’s defense force with a weapon believed to be an MA1. We shouted to surrender, but because he continued to fire, our forces opened fire, and his wife died on the spot. It is also known that Major Aung Zaw Oo was injured heavily and died at the hospital.”

It is also said that the defense forces retreated due to the news of reinforcements coming.

The captured things included one laptop, one notebook, and a car.

The defense force also said that they have received information about the militia leaders and will take action against them.

On August 26, the End of Dictatorship (EOD) announced, “The projects that will be sold to the public to obtain important revolutionary funds to end the dictatorship are ‘Nway Oo Yeik Mon’ and ‘Nway Oo Maw Kon Thit’. Buyers will have the right to own land, and it will be sold at a value of about one-third of the market price. Moreover, the payment must be divided between the period of the revolution and the period after the revolution.”

In terms of payment, only 40 percent of the cost will have to be paid in three-month installments during the revolution period, and the remaining 60 percent will have to be paid when the projects start after the revolution period, the EOD said.

When the projects start after the revolution, roads, water, electricity, playgrounds, parks, and municipal services will be built by the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment, and the house will have to be custom-built by the buyer according to construction standards.

It is also stated that the housing units have to be purchased from EOD agents and will be available for purchase in the next few days.

According to the Kyun Hla activists’ group, the military troops burned down Kone Si village on the west side of the dam in Kyung Hla Township, Sagaing Division.

They said, “There is an initial report that, at 7:00 am on August 26, the terrorist military troops (LIB 361 and LIB 369 under the No.10 Operation Command Headquarters in the Northwestern Military Command Region) set fire to Kone Si village on the west side of the dam in Kyung Hla Township.”

The military troops burned down more than 30,000 civilian houses nationwide, and villages in Sagaing, Magway, Chin State, and Karenni Region were mostly burned down.

It states, “At around 5:30 am on August 24, our allied forces attacked the base station of the military troops and Pyu Saw Htee, which had been stationed for one month in Minywa village in the middle island area.”

It is also stated that during the 20 minutes of the encounter, the allied forces opened fire both with small arms and artillery shells.

As a result of the shooting attack by the allied comrades, 21 soldiers, including a platoon commander, were killed and 12 were seriously injured.

On the side of the allied forces, 6 comrades were injured (not seriously) and were able to retreat successfully.

The operation was carried out jointly by the People’s Defense Force Yesagyo (Yesagyo pakapha) and sixteen allied forces.
