MATHEMATICS 13
MAKING OF A RIGHT ANGLE
Euclid said that a right angle is formed when
two lines meet in such a way that the two adjacent angles, those angles lying side by side
are equal to each other.
figure of two right angles A and B
This definition gives us an effective yet
childlikely simple method of obtaining a right angle. It is a practical application of Euclid’s
definition.

diagram. The fold will be a straight line. Then fold
it again so that the two parts of the line fall
