First of all: - Fighting intensifies again in Hpakant; KIA captures six military council frontline bases near Maw Wan Gyi; six civilians injured by artillery fire
m.CDM, April 2, 2026
In Hpakant Township, Kachin State, where the situation had been relatively quiet for more than a month, fighting has intensified again, and the KIA reportedly captured six frontline military council positions near Maw Wan Gyi.
At around 6:00 p.m. on April 1, joint KIA forces launched offensives against military council positions around the Maw Wan Swut Bum area and the Uru area, leading to intense clashes.
At around 5:00 a.m. on April 2, fighting became even more intense in Hpakant, Maw Wan Gyi, and around Maw Si Sar village in Lone Khin group, and the joint KIA forces reportedly succeeded in capturing six frontline military council outposts near Maw Wan Gyi.
During the fighting, the military council side reportedly suffered heavy casualties, and large quantities of weapons and ammunition were also seized.
After the bases were overrun, at around 2:00 p.m., the military council carried out three jet fighter bombing attacks around Maw Wan, though no civilian casualties were reported from those strikes.
However, at around 6:35 a.m., artillery shells fired indiscriminately by the military council landed and exploded in Min Mar Yan of Maw Wan Gyi, Myoma Ward, and Club Kone Ward in Hpakant town.
As a result of those explosions, six civilians were injured: 9-year-old Maung Phone Yein Aung, 17-year-old Ma Jar Aung, 28-year-old Ma Saung Myaw, 30-year-old U Ban Aung, 50-year-old U Tu Khaung, and one other person. Some houses were also damaged.
Because the fighting remains intense, the Hpakant–Hparein road, Nammahpyit road, San Kywel road, and Maw Win Gyi road have been temporarily closed, and military council troops are also reportedly conducting ambush and sentry operations inside Hpakant town.
⸻ - Military council supply convoy attacked in Pauk; five killed and over 30 injured; Red Wolves says it is preparing to retake Mogok
m.CDM, April 2, 2026
In Pauk Township, Magway Region, revolutionary joint forces reportedly ambushed a military council convoy that had set out to deliver supplies to Pyu Saw Htee villages, killing five military personnel and injuring more than 30, according to a statement by the Pauk Township People’s Defense Team (Pa Ka Pha).
On March 26 and 28, a convoy of 33 vehicles carrying around 300 military council troops and Pyu Saw Htee members traveled from Pauk along the Daungtha–Thee Chaung road to deliver supplies to Pyu villages in southern Pauk.
On March 26, the convoy was attacked with landmines by joint resistance forces between Myae Chyar, Lay Lan, and Tharapi villages, reportedly causing at least 10 casualties on the military council side.
Then, on March 28, as the same convoy reached the area between Lay Lan and Tharapi villages, revolutionary forces launched another intercept attack.
The clash lasted about two hours. Five military council troops were reportedly killed, at least 20 were injured, and one vehicle was burned and destroyed.
The attacks were carried out jointly by Pauk Pa Ka Pha, Myaing Pa Ka Pha, and MGY PDF, and no resistance fighters were harmed.
In Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, the Red Wolves of Mogok People’s Defense Force also announced that it is preparing to launch an attack to retake Mogok at any time.
The group said that although it had to make a temporary withdrawal from Mogok on March 21 under the order of the “Mogok, Momeik Military Commander,” it has now begun replenishing its strength at a location nearest to Mogok Township.
It therefore urged the public not to lose hope, and pledged to continue serving until the dictatorship is completely uprooted and destroyed.
⸻ - USBA launches surprise attack on military council troops gambling at Kyar Kan station in Thayet Township; one killed, two injured
m.CDM, April 2, 2026
In Thayet Township, Magway Region, the Burma Defense Force (USBA) said it carried out a surprise attack on military council troops stationed at the station in Kyar Kan village while they were gambling, killing one soldier and seriously injuring two others.
The attack took place at around 10:45 a.m. on April 2 while the troops were sitting and playing cards. A brief exchange of fire followed, and the resistance fighters reportedly withdrew without casualties.
During the clash, one military council soldier was killed and two others were seriously wounded and sent urgently to Thayet Hospital.
After suffering losses, the military troops reportedly fired artillery, small arms, and machine guns indiscriminately for about half an hour.
These troops had been stationed there since March 14 with around 180 men under the pretext of railway security, with the aim of using the Thayet–Minhla railway as a logistics route.
While stationed there, they reportedly forced local civilians to work on railway repair projects, stole public property, conscripted porters, and extorted money.
The area had, for the past five years, remained one where the military council’s machinery functioned fully and fake elections had been successfully held, and it was known as a stronghold of support for the military group. Since this was the first battle to occur there, local residents reportedly fled in panic.
⸻ - Meiktila’s Shan Te air force headquarters attacked with 107 mm short-range rockets
m.CDM, April 2, 2026
Brave Warriors Myanmar (BWM) announced that the military council’s Shan Te Air Force Headquarters in Meiktila, Mandalay Region, was attacked with 107 mm short-range rockets.
At 4:26 a.m. on April 2, 10 rockets were fired, and seven reportedly landed and exploded successfully inside the air force headquarters compound.
The operation was led by BWM and carried out jointly with No More Dictatorship (NMD-PDF), the Shadow (Mandalay) group, Moe Makkha Force (Nyaung-U District Pa Ka Pha), and the Satan group.
Regarding the operation, BWM stated that it was “a gift from BWM and its allies to the illegal government installed through the military council’s fake election after losing the war.”
The Meiktila air force headquarters was reportedly targeted because it is the place that trains the military council’s airmen for the whole country and serves as the main headquarters for all airstrikes.
It was also said to be where the military council keeps its newly commissioned aircraft, and despite multiple layers of ground security set up to protect it, the attackers were able to penetrate and strike swiftly.
The statement added that the operation could only be carried out safely with the help of inside informants, and it expressed special thanks to Taungtha Pa La Pha and local groups that provided support.

The Kyaukpin Kauk Hero Guerrilla Force, under Battalion 3801, Company 5 of Thayarwady District, said it rewarded the two defectors for bringing weapons and ammunition.

They also discussed the need to avoid issuing statements or writings that could create misunderstandings about events on the ground and please the enemy, the terrorist military council, and to restrain actions that could worsen the problem.
It was stated that the current issues are related to the division of competences between the Union Government and the Federal Unit Government.
Therefore, with the common objective of building federal democracy together, they agreed to continue negotiations and discussions continuously until a satisfactory outcome is reached, after which the meeting was adjourned.
⸻ - Regional CDM civil servant councils welcome the formation of the Steering Council for the Emergence of a Federal Democratic Union
m.CDM, April 2
Regional CDM civil servant councils have jointly issued a statement welcoming and supporting the formation of the Steering Council for the Emergence of a Federal Democratic Union (SCEF).
Eight CDM civil servant councils representing CDM staff from various states and federal units said they warmly welcome and support the official formation of SCEF on March 30 of this year.
They also stated that SCEF’s six political objectives—including the total eradication of all forms of dictatorship including military dictatorship, the complete end of the military’s involvement in politics, the total abolition of the 2008 Constitution, and the implementation of transitional justice—fully align with the firm stance and aspirations of CDM civil servants.
The eight councils also view SCEF’s foundation on the principles of shared sovereignty among states and federal units and collective leadership as a strong and sound cornerstone for moving toward a new federal democratic union with full national equality and self-determination.
Because CDM civil servants are those who rejected and resisted the machinery of military dictatorship, they said they believe the newly formed SCEF will become a new political framework capable of accelerating the uprooting of dictatorship through legitimate leadership and coordinated support for the military and political activities of the various revolutionary organizations.
They further declared that CDM civil servants from the eight regional councils will also participate from their respective sectors, in line with SCEF’s policy guidance, to help secure a swift revolutionary victory and implement transitional plans to ensure the success of the common goal of building a new federal union.
The joint statement was issued by the Kachin State CDM Civil Servants Council (KSCCSC), Karenni State Civil Servants Nonviolent Civil Disobedience Movement Council (KSCSC-CDM), Sagaing Federal Unit CDM Civil Servants Council (CCSC-SFU), Bago Region CDM Civil Servants Council (BRCC), Mandalay Region Civil Disobedience Movement Organization (MCDMO), Mon State CDM Civil Servants Council (CCSC-MON), Yangon Federal Unit CDM Civil Servants Organization (YFCCO), and the Shan State CDM Council (temporary).
⸻ - NUG Ministry of Human Rights says the terrorist military group carried out more than 5,000 air attacks on the public while pretending to form a new government
m.CDM, April 2
The NUG Ministry of Human Rights has revealed that while the terrorist military group was pretending to form a new government through a sham election, it had in fact launched more than 5,000 aerial attacks on the public.
The ministry said that while staging a fake election and forming a sham new government, the terrorist military group carried out 5,205 airstrikes against the people, killing 5,478 persons, including 725 children of play age—describing this as a truly heartbreaking reality.
It added that the group also deliberately destroyed 1,354 schools, hospitals, and religious buildings.
These figures are said to be the latest available data as of March 31, 2026.
The ministry further stated that the terrorist military group committed 533 massacres, which caused 5,659 deaths, including 1,013 women and 623 children, clearly showing that the group regards anyone as an enemy and kills them.
In addition, the ministry’s records show that the defeated terrorist military has been forcibly drafting young people into the army on a severe scale, with 32,654 youths forcibly recruited.
It also said that young people in Mandalay and Rakhine are suffering the most from this forced military recruitment.
Across the country, there have been 25,029 incidents of human rights violations, and the ministry’s records show that Sagaing remains the worst-hit region for extrajudicial killings.
The NUG Ministry of Human Rights emphasized that these numbers are not mere dots on a dashboard, but the lives, blood, and tears of people sacrificed because of the lust for power.
⸻ - AA says bombing that killed four family members in Thandwe Township was the first war crime committed under new commander-in-chief Ye Win Oo
m.CDM, April 2
The Arakan Army (AA) said that the bombing attack by the terrorist military which killed four members of a family in Thandwe Township was the first war crime committed under the tenure of the new military commander-in-chief, Ye Win Oo.
The statement came in response to heavy airstrikes carried out by the terrorist military on Thandwe Township in Rakhine State on the morning of April 1, using four fighter aircraft.
According to the AA, from 11:11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on April 1, the terrorist military launched intense aerial bombardment on Thandwe Township with four jet fighters, while a warship stationed offshore simultaneously shelled the area with heavy weapons.
The bombs dropped by the military reportedly landed and exploded near the former Infantry Battalion 55 base in Thandwe Township.
As a result of the attack, an entire family of four innocent civilians who were sheltering near the former Battalion 55 base—including a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old child—were killed on the spot, and three others were injured, according to detailed information released by the AA.
The AA said that the airstrike on Thandwe was the first war crime under the new commander-in-chief’s tenure to wipe out an entire family at once.
The group also warned residents of Arakan to remain especially alert to air danger, as in recent days the terrorist military has been launching simultaneous attacks using three or more jet fighters together with reconnaissance aircraft.
⸻ - Case filed in Indonesia against Min Aung Hlaing for Rohingya genocide; EU and UK ambassadors warn Myanmar’s situation remains at its worst
m.CDM, April 2, 2026
It has been reported that a complaint will be filed on Monday, April 6, at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta, Indonesia, against junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and infantry units directly involved in the Rohingya genocide.
The complaint will reportedly be jointly submitted by ten prominent figures, including Rohingya genocide survivor Yasmin Ullah, former Indonesian Attorney General Marzuki Darusman, and Busyro Muqoddas, chairman of the Muslim charitable organization Muhammadiyah.
The complaint reportedly details the names of the Light Infantry Divisions (LIDs) and Min Aung Hlaing’s direct command responsibility, and will be supported by THEMIS Indonesia, MAP, and the Rohingya Maiyafuinor Collaborative Network.
In addition, at the United Nations Human Rights Council, British Ambassador Eleanor Sanders said that Myanmar’s human rights crisis remains in its worst and most urgent state.
She warned that the international community cannot ignore the military council’s reckless airstrikes, village burnings, sexual violence, and abuses against minorities committed since the 2021 coup.
The European Union ambassador likewise stated that systematic and horrifying human rights violations and unjust oppression continue in Myanmar.
It was also pointed out that the terrorist military group continues relentless aerial attacks against civilians, blocks humanitarian assistance, and is attempting to legitimize its power through unfree sham elections, making election-related violence even worse.
