Now, first: - NUG pledges to build a People’s Defense Force (PDF) free from the poison of fascism and committed solely to protecting the people
m.CDM, March 27, 2026
The National Unity Government (NUG) solemnly pledged in its message marking the 81st Anti-Fascist Revolution Day that it will soon secure victories for the people and firmly build a People’s Defense Force (PDF) that is free from the poison of fascism and dedicated to protecting the people.
It pointed out that the organization calling itself the military, which was built with public tax revenues, has, instead of protecting the people, treated them as enemies and committed acts even worse than those of fascists, leaving a dark stain on history.
It said that just as the patriotic fighters of 81 years ago bravely resisted fascism, today in the Spring Revolution, a new generation of youth and revolutionary forces are courageously fighting on the front lines to uproot and destroy another form of fascism: military dictatorship.
As the revolution nears its final goal, the NUG said that the unity of the people is the key weapon, and that by building trust with ethnic allied revolutionary forces, it will eradicate from Myanmar the violent seizure of people’s power, human rights violations, and genocidal crimes.
Therefore, taking lessons from history as an example, the NUG urged all ethnic peoples to continue the struggle in unity until a federal democratic union can be built, one founded on freedom, self-determination, peace, and equality.
⸻ - Armed Forces Day ceremony at Bayinnaung Combat Training School in Thandaunggyi attacked with 107 mm short-range rockets
m.CDM, March 27, 2026
Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) announced that the Armed Forces Day ceremony being held at the military (army) combat training school, Bayinnaung, in Thandaunggyi, Karen State, was attacked with 107 mm short-range rockets.
At 7:05 a.m. on March 27, under BWM leadership, Mountain Knight Civilian Defense Forces (MKCDF), Anti-Coup People’s Liberation Force (ACPLF), and KNLA Brigade 2 Battalion 5 jointly launched five 107 mm short-range rockets. Four of them reportedly landed and exploded successfully inside the school compound.
The Bayinnaung Combat Training School is a key institution where the junta trains platoon commanders, company commanders, and battalion commanders. The attack was reportedly intended to inflict damage on the military council during an important ceremony.
BWM and its allies also stated that they pay tribute in recognition of “Anti-Fascist Revolution Day” and reject the military regime’s appropriation of a historically significant day by recasting it as “Armed Forces Day.”
BWM said that the regime’s ceremony in Naypyidaw was beyond reach due to heavy troop deployment and tight security, so they instead targeted the ceremony at the Bayinnaung school in nearby Thandaunggyi.
Within the previous 48 hours, BWM and its allies had also successfully attacked the Magway Air Base with 11 rounds of 107 mm short-range rockets.
They added that they will continue attacking the military group’s air bases and other major military targets until the revolution succeeds.
⸻ - Revolutionary allied forces ambush military supply column in Chaung-U; many on military side reportedly killed and one police officer captured alive
m.CDM, March 27, 2026
In Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, revolutionary allied forces attacked junta troops and bases involved in transporting supplies to Kin Mun Taw (Pyu) village, according to a statement by the Chaung-U Township People’s Administration Team.
At around 6:30 a.m. on March 19, a junta supply column of about 150 troops traveling from Chaung-U town along the high road was hit by a landmine attack near the Kyay Ni Bridge by the Burma Liberation Democratic Front (BLDF), reportedly killing about nine soldiers.
Then, at around 7:30 a.m., a force of about 60 soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia members that had come out from Kin Mun Taw village to meet that column was ambushed by revolutionary forces on a bridge between Shan Htoo village and Kin Mun Taw village, reportedly killing three more.
Revolutionary allied forces also continued mine attacks and close-range assaults against the main column of about 150 troops coming from Chaung-U, causing heavy damage to the junta side. The column reportedly did not reach Kin Mun Taw village until around 5:00 p.m.
During the fighting, the junta side returned fire with one 60 mm round and two RPG rounds. In addition, they provided continuous artillery support from Chaung-U town using 120 mm heavy weapons and carried out aerial bombings with three gyrocopters and drones.
As a result of the bombings, one civilian villager was injured, and one village People’s Defense Team leader was killed in action.
On the night of March 21, the column secretly withdrew back to Chaung-U town. Revolutionary forces then launched an assault at 9:30 a.m. on March 23 against the soldiers, police, and Pyu Saw Htee members who had remained stationed in Shan Htoo village.
After an eight-hour raid, they reportedly captured and fully overran the junta foothold in Shan Htoo village, captured alive a police officer who had been burning civilian homes, and caused many casualties on the junta side.
During that battle, one more village defense fighter was killed and two were injured.
The operations were jointly carried out by the Chaung-U Township People’s Defense Force combat unit (CHU-PDF), Chaung-U Township Pa Ka Pha combat zones 1, 3, and 6, Monywa District Pa Ka Pha, the Burma Liberation Democratic Front (BLDF), Nael Si Mae Charr Sagaing Tharr, and Monywa Special Force-11.
⸻ - Military-appointed village administrator in Puti Kone, who had challenged PDF fighters, was shot dead
m.CDM, March 27
PPDF-3601 Battalion announced on March 27 that a military-appointed village administrator in Puti Kone Town, Thetkone Township, Pyay District, Bago Region, who had challenged People’s Defense Force fighters, was shot dead.
According to the statement, members of Pyay District Battalion 1 Company 4 and Battalion 2 Company 4, under Strategy 21 command, carried out the shooting at around 2:00 p.m. on March 25 at the administrator’s home in Nyaung Wine village, Nyaung Wine group, Puti Kone Town. The administrator was identified as Zaw Min, also known as Kalar.
It is reported that the son of the deceased administrator is a police officer under the terrorist military, and that with his son’s help, he had removed the former administrator and taken the position.
Zaw Min was also said to have intimidated villagers in Nyaung Wine group in various ways to instill fear, forcibly arrested people as porters for the military group, excessively collected porter fees, and boasted in front of locals that he was serving as administrator because he was not afraid of the PDFs.
⸻ - Junta spokesperson Major General Zaw Min Tun removed from post; deputy chief says more changes may come in top military leadership
m.CDM, March 27, 2026
It is reported that Major General Zaw Min Tun, who served both as director of the junta’s Public Relations and Psychological Warfare Department and as its spokesperson, has been removed from his military post and replaced by Brigadier General Ye Yint Aung.
Military sources said he had been under internal investigation because of a recent announcement regarding junta leader Min Aung Hlaing’s back surgery, which reportedly did not please the leader and was released incorrectly.
It has also been claimed that during the interrogation period, investigators found messages in which Zaw Min Tun said he respected deputy junta chief Soe Win more than Min Aung Hlaing, though this has not been independently confirmed.
Because he was under investigation, Zaw Min Tun was unable to attend the dinner honoring the 81st Armed Forces Day or the ceremony paying respects to retired senior generals.
His replacement, Brigadier General Ye Yint Aung, appeared at the dinner and award ceremony held on the night of March 26 for participants in the military propaganda film Sea of Clouds, Tough Journey and presented awards.
There is speculation that Zaw Min Tun may be transferred to the military reserve force or may receive the post of information minister in the nominal new government expected to be formed in early April.
In addition, after the Armed Forces Day ceremony held on March 27, more changes in top military leadership may follow, Deputy Junta Chief Soe Win reportedly said at a respect-paying ceremony for retired senior officers held on March 26.
He said that in the coming days a president and vice presidents would be selected and state responsibilities would be transferred to a nominal new government, along with changes in the military leadership.
He also said that no matter who leads, they will continue along the policy path laid down by previous military leaders who served as their teachers, role models, and guides.
Political and military observers, however, assess that this may be an attempt to ease domestic and international pressure and to find a scapegoat for military defeats.
⸻ - UK imposes sanctions on Wan Kuok Koi, owner of a scam center in Myawaddy
m.CDM, March 27, 2026
Justice For Myanmar (JFM) said it welcomes the UK’s sanctions, imposed on March 26, against Wan Kuok Koi, also known as “Broken Tooth,” as part of a broader crackdown on cyber scam centers across Southeast Asia.
Wan Kuok Koi, a former leader of the Chinese criminal syndicate “14K Triad,” is said to be a key investor in the Dongmei Park scam compound in Myawaddy Township, which operates in cooperation with the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF) under the junta’s command.
The Dongmei Park scam compound is also said to include investments from wealthy Malaysian nationals. Compared with other scam hubs, its development has reportedly been slower, but it is envisioned as a massive project including a 30,000-acre resort zone, hotels, and office buildings.
The severe conditions inside Dongmei Park were previously described by a survivor named Neo, who escaped in 2023.
He told The New York Times that he had been lured there with promises of a translation job, then detained and forced for seven months to carry out cryptocurrency scams for Chinese criminal gangs.
The compound is reportedly purpose-built for illegal activities and includes facilities used for drug trafficking and sex work, along with watchtowers and heavily armed guards.
The UK statement also said that, in this crackdown, not only scam centers in Myanmar but also the Cambodia-based Prince Group had been targeted.
The United States had already sanctioned Wan Kuok Koi back in 2020.
⸻ - Junta attacks scam casino in DKBA-controlled area south of Myawaddy with kamikaze drones; 3 Chinese nationals killed and 13 injured
m.CDM, March 27, 2026
A scam casino in the DKBA-controlled area of Phlu Lay village, south of Myawaddy in Karen State, was attacked by junta forces using kamikaze drones, reportedly killing three Chinese nationals instantly.
At around 11:30 p.m. on March 26, the “Kyun Taw” Chinese scam compound east of Phlu Lay village was targeted with kamikaze drones and hit by explosions.
As a result, three young Chinese men working inside the casino were killed on the spot by bomb fragments, while about 13 other staff members and guests suffered serious injuries.
The Kyun Taw scam compound had already been targeted twice, once in January and again in March, with artillery and kamikaze drones. Across those attacks, the total number of deaths has reportedly reached at least 10, with no fewer than 20 people injured.
At present, around five Chinese scam compounds of various sizes reportedly still remain along the Phlu, Min Let Pan, and Phlu Lay village road sections. Some are said to be relocating to other areas, but the compound hit in this latest attack was reportedly still operating scam activities.
Military tensions remain high around the Phlu Lay area, and local residents are said to be living in fear of aerial attacks and drone threats from the military.

The Testimonies from Beyond exhibition in Oslo is the first time the exhibition has been held outside the UK. It was first held in London in May 2025.
The exhibition aims to let the world know about the brutality of the military dictatorship, displaying evidence and materials collected on the ground for public study.
⸻ - Blood Money Campaign calls for urgent sanctions on aviation fuel and marine insurance services reaching the military from international companies
m.CDM, March 27
The Blood Money Campaign has urgently called for coordinated international sanctions to stop the Myanmar military from obtaining aviation fuel and marine insurance services from international companies.
The group said in a March 26 statement that, in the more than five years since the coup in Myanmar, the military’s airstrikes have risen to nearly 7,000 attacks, causing a dramatic increase in civilian deaths, and that the international community must urgently block the aviation fuel and marine insurance services flowing to the junta.
From February 2021 to March 19, 2026, over a period of more than five years, the military carried out 6,986 aerial bombing attacks, killing 4,299 civilians, including newborn children, according to the Blood Money Campaign.
The group said that in March alone this year, the military committed at least four mass-casualty airstrikes, killing more than 200 people, including monks and children, and injuring many more.
It noted that on March 5, the military seized villagers in Kyaukkyi Township as human shields and then bombed the area from the air, killing 25 civilians including five children. On March 8, it bombed a detention camp in the Dalaik Chaung area of Ann Township, killing 116 prisoners of war and civilians. On March 10, it attacked a gold mining site in Sin Kham village, Bhamo Township, killing at least 30 civilians. On March 20, it bombed the Maha Lay Htat monastery in Katha while displaced civilians were taking shelter there and monks were receiving alms, killing at least 50 people including monks and children.
The statement added that although the world is facing fuel shortages due to conflict in the Middle East and the disruption of the Strait of Hormuz, the Myanmar military is confiscating civilian aviation fuel and using it to attack civilian targets.
These airstrikes, the group said, expose both the failure of international governments to take effective action and the gaps in coordinated sanctions that should be imposed among countries.
It also criticized the junta for escalating violence while at the same time convening a sham parliament in an attempt to gain legitimacy.
Therefore, the Blood Money Campaign urged ASEAN, the EU, the UK, and international governments not to recognize the Myanmar military junta as a legitimate government, and to coordinate urgently to impose sanctions blocking aviation fuel and marine insurance services reaching the junta. It also called for united punitive action to stop the war crimes being committed against civilians.
