  5. NUG Acting President urges ethnic leaders to unite with vision to build a new Union
    m.CDM – February 12
The Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Duwa Lashi La, urged ethnic leaders to unite with broad-mindedness and foresight in order to build a new modern federal democratic Union, stating that millions of people are now ready for this effort.
In his speech marking the 79th Union Day on February 12, the Acting President said:
“We now have millions of people ready to build a new Union. I strongly urge all relevant ethnic leaders to unite and lead with great vision and broad perspectives.”
He also earnestly appealed to ethnic leaders not to ignore the suffering and widespread hardships faced by the people.
He emphasized that generosity and foresight are essential to establishing a genuine Union, and that oppression by majorities over minorities, or by powerful groups over individuals, and the long-standing injustices suffered by ethnic nationalities, must now come to an end.
He further stated that freedom, justice, and equality cannot be achieved by the strength of one person alone, but must be won collectively:
“What cannot be achieved by one person’s strength must be achieved by the strength of ten thousand; and if ten thousand is not enough, then by one hundred thousand.”
He described the Spring Revolution as broader than simply restoring democracy or forming a civilian government — it is a movement that includes all ethnic groups.
He added that the recent military victories in various ethnic areas are evidence of progress toward a genuine federal Union.
In conclusion, the Acting President urged all ethnic peoples to rise up from the oppression of the violent military dictatorship and march together toward a free, just, and equal new Union.

He acknowledged that the revolution has reached its fifth year and that everyone is feeling the fatigue of the long journey. However, he said that the successes achieved through unity amid difficulties are historic milestones that allow the movement to continue forward with full strength.
    He said:
“If we can move forward with greater unity, our journey will advance further. That is why our government and allied leaders are taking time to meet and hold frequent discussions.”
He noted that while the government continues political engagement on one front, it is also persistently working to strengthen the military front.
He emphasized that the revolution aims not only to return power to the people but to ensure that dictators never re-emerge in history, transforming both era and system. He stressed the importance of successfully completing this difficult revolution in the present generation.
    He further stated:
“Federalism is not about wearing the same uniforms and holding ceremonies. It is about creating a society that values its own heritage, shapes its own destiny, upholds equality, and respects the rights, entitlements, and traditions of others.”
