⸻ - NUG and K3C allies discuss forming a new collective leadership to ensure revolutionary success
m.CDM – February 10
It has been learned that the National Unity Government (NUG) and ethnic revolutionary alliance groups under K3C, including KIO, KNU, KNPP, and CNF, are seriously discussing the formation of a new “One Command” collective leadership structure to strengthen the momentum of the revolution.
This was mentioned by Lieutenant General Gun Maw (KIO/KIA) during a speech at the 65th Kachin Revolution Day ceremony held recently.
“We are working on reunification and reorganization. Just two or three days ago, we held online meetings with the NUG, KNU, KNPP, CNF, and KIO. We are prioritizing discussions on how to successfully carry out the current revolution,”
said Lt. Gen. Gun Maw.
NUG Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson U Nay Phone Latt also confirmed:
“This is not only the desire of the people but also an extremely necessary requirement for the revolution. That is why discussions and coordination among ethnic revolutionary forces are ongoing to make this a reality.”
Although there have been reports of a “Federal Leadership Council,” sources say discussions are still at a preliminary stage. Lt. Gen. Gun Maw emphasized the importance of revolutionary forces standing firmly on the right path and maintaining mutual respect and recognition.
Meanwhile, during the five years since the military coup, the junta has attempted to approach revolutionary groups individually for separate negotiations. However, KIO and allied groups have firmly rejected such attempts, reaffirming their commitment to collective cooperation to achieve revolutionary success.
In the ongoing Bhamo battle, which has lasted more than a year, Chin defense forces, units from Yaw and Saw regions, and fighters from various ethnic backgrounds are jointly fighting alongside the KIA. Although the battle is costly and difficult, it has been described as a struggle for political dignity.
