MSRF said that at around **2:30 p.m. on Dec 22**, it attacked a junta column of about **150 troops** that was advancing toward the area, using guerrilla tactics.

The fighting lasted until **3:15 p.m.** MSRF claimed that about **29 junta personnel**, including **one captain**, were killed and about **10** were wounded.

MSRF said it held a funeral ceremony and cremated its two fallen fighters on **Dec 24**.

## 2) Nyaung Kyo outpost battle: junta Major Wae Yan Linn killed

*(m.CDM, Dec 24)*

Military sources said junta Major **Wae Yan Linn** was killed in fighting on **Dec 22** during an operation to retake **Nyaung Kyo outpost**, located on the **Rakhine State–Bago Region** border. The outpost was reportedly captured earlier this year (in **March**) by the **Arakan Army (AA)**, and the junta force was forced to withdraw.

A person close to the major wrote on social media expressing condolences, referencing his family and children.

Reports say Major Wae Yan Linn was a graduate of the **Defense Services Academy, Intake 53**, and had previously served at the **Yangon Regional Military Command** and the **Loikaw-based Regional Operations Command**, at **G3 level**.

The report also notes that the area near the outpost—on the **Taungup–Pantaung road** in **Pantaung Township**—is strategically important because it is near junta defense-industrial facilities, including a **military factory complex** (often referred to as “TaKaSa”) and missile units, which is why the junta has been conducting a large-scale offensive.

## 3) Mogok-area clashes: 18 regime troops killed; three prisoners captured

*(m.CDM, Dec 24)*

Myanmar’s Ministry of Defense (as cited in the report) said that in clashes with regime forces in **Mogok Township**, Mandalay Region, **18 junta soldiers** were killed.

Between **Dec 7 and Dec 24**, the report says there were **6 major battles** and **9 engagements**, and that resistance forces seized **one village** and **one strategic hill** previously held by the junta.

It also said three junta personnel were captured alive as prisoners of war, and that the People’s Defense Force (PDF) and local defense forces would continue fighting regime troops entering **Mogok** and **Momeik** townships.

## 4) Attack on junta troops stationed on Micro-Watt Mountain, Kyauk Ni Maw: three killed

*(m.CDM, Dec 24)*

The Steel Butterfly Force said it attacked a junta unit stationed on **Micro-Watt Mountain** near **Kyauk Ni Maw Village**, **Launglon Township**, Tanintharyi Region.

The attack occurred at around **10:00 a.m. on Dec 23** and the clash lasted about **20 minutes**. The group claimed **three junta personnel**, including a **deputy corporal**, were killed and **four** were seriously wounded.

The statement said the operation was carried out by the **Launglon Steel Butterfly Force (LL S.B.F)** and that its members withdrew safely without casualties.

## 5) Continued fighting in Sin Phyu Kyun: civilians injured by shell fragments

*(m.CDM, Dec 24)*

Fighting between junta forces and resistance joint forces has continued in **Sin Phyu Kyun** town, Magway Region, since **Dec 23**. Local reports said civilians trapped inside the town were hit by artillery shrapnel and about **six people** were injured, including **two women** and **one man**.

The fighting has mainly taken place on the town’s **west and south** sides. The report said the junta has been firing artillery continuously, and on the morning of **Dec 24** also carried out attacks using **two fighter jets**.

Residents reportedly had no advance warning and were unable to flee, so they have had to remain inside their homes.

The report added that nearly **200 junta troops** are positioned with emplaced artillery at the police station in **Parikkhara Ward** and inside the **Athiri Pagoda compound** in **Ward No. 2**, firing toward villages west of Salin. It also said junta units are lying in ambush in **Wards 2 and 3** with about **50 troops each**, reinforcing their positions, and that internet lines in the town have been cut.

It further said that on **Dec 23**, artillery shells landed in residential areas in **Poe Ahnauk Ward**, injuring about six civilians. Separately, around **10:00 a.m.**, a man in his 40s from **Thone Pin Taung Ward** who went out to look at a junta column was shot in the back (non-life-threatening injury).

## 6) Confiscation of assets of election participants and parties as “public property”

*(m.CDM, Dec 24)*

The **CDF–Hakha Central Council** announced on **Dec 24** that it would confiscate, as “public property,” the assets of individuals and political parties that participate in the military’s planned **sham election**.

It said this action is based on **Chapter 4, Section 16** of procedures and regulations related to opposing the sham election and protecting public rights, issued by the **Chin State Council** on **Nov 6**. Under that provision, the council said it would seize all assets within **Hakha Township** belonging to candidates and political parties that take part in the election.

The group also warned the public not to transfer or purchase such assets in Hakha Township.

The statement accused the military of nationwide atrocities, including killing civilians, destroying homes and property, burning schools, hospitals, churches and monasteries, and carrying out daily airstrikes.

It added that the election is neither free nor fair and is intended to conceal abuses and entrench military rule. The statement noted that the military’s “Election Phase 1” reportedly includes **Hakha** and **Tedim** in Chin State, and **Kalay** and **Tamu** in Sagaing Region, and that some Chin parties are expected to field candidates.

## 7) SSPP/SSA arrests six kidnappers and rescues an 18-year-old woman in Tangyan Township

*(m.CDM, Dec 24)*

The **Shan State Progress Party/Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA)** said it arrested **six men** who abducted an **18-year-old woman** in **Tangyan Township**, northern Shan State, and rescued her.

According to the report, on **Dec 15**, the woman (name changed) from **Mahe Village**, Mongshu Township, was lured through an online scam to come to Tangyan for work. Six men (aged roughly 19 to over 20) arrived in two cars pretending to pick her up and abducted her.

The kidnappers reportedly demanded **500 lakh kyat** from her parents and pressured them for at least **200 lakh kyat**.

The scam began from a TikTok “job” post, where the scammer allegedly posed like a boyfriend and promised a high-paying job.

SSPP/SSA said it investigated and, at around **11:30 p.m. on Dec 19**, arrested the six suspects at a rented house near the Chinese cemetery area in **Ward 6, Tangyan**, rescued the victim in time, and returned her to her family.

It said the suspects are men from villages in Tangyan Township and that they will be prosecuted under SSPP/SSA procedures after court questioning.

## 😎 Facebook removes new junta propaganda pages MRTV and MRN

*(m.CDM, Dec 24)*

Justice For Myanmar announced that Facebook removed and shut down a newly created **MRTV** page and an **MRN** page that was reposting and distributing MRTV content, calling them junta propaganda mechanisms opened this month.

Justice For Myanmar welcomed the action and praised Facebook’s fast response.

The report noted that after earlier removals of MITV and the Yadanabon Newspaper page, and similar actions on YouTube, Twitch, and Kick, Facebook has now also removed the new MRTV and MRN pages.

It added that Meta (Facebook’s parent company) has maintained a policy since **2021** banning Myanmar’s military, military-linked businesses, and military-controlled state entities and media from using Facebook and Instagram.

Justice For Myanmar again urged all tech companies to take down junta propaganda accounts and prevent the junta from using their platforms, and thanked those who reported the pages.
