m.CDM, December 21
The graduation ceremony of the Basic Military Training Course of Strategy (22) under the People’s Defence Force (PDF), Bago Regional Military Command, received messages from the NUG Minister of Defence and the Commander of Military Operations Area No. (2), according to reports.
The Minister of Defence stated that war is waged to protect the people, to uproot and eradicate the fascist military dictatorship, and to secure a new federal democratic system and nation desired by the public.
He also expressed pride that each trainee had successfully completed the rigorous training with determination, perseverance, and effort, demonstrating true patriotism and unwavering commitment in practice.
The Minister urged graduates to overcome future frontline challenges by holding firmly to comradeship, strong resolve, loyalty to the revolution, and faithfulness to the people.
“Our PDF’s motto is ‘The people are our mother, the people are our father.’ For our families, our loved ones, and those who believe in us and await our victory, we must fight and win. In the end, all evil will fall, and goodness and truth will prevail,” the Minister said.
He further emphasized that PDF members must behave in ways that earn the love, trust, and respect of the people.
Likewise, the Commander of Military Operations Area No. (2) urged strict adherence to the two COCs—Chain of Command and Code of Conduct—emphasizing mutual respect, unity, and collective struggle against the military dictatorship with the revolution as the guiding focus.
He encouraged trainees to effectively apply the skills learned, decisively defeat the enemy, foster brotherhood and sisterhood toward both civilians and comrades, and wished them safety and victory in their fight against the terrorist military.
The graduation ceremony was held at a liberated area within Thayarwady District and was attended by responsible officials from battalions and companies under Strategy (22), township PDF leaders, and commanders and representatives from allied organizations.
The program included the reading of congratulatory messages from regional commands and allied forces, speeches by strategic commanders and training officers, oath-taking, awards for outstanding trainees, and remarks by award recipients.
The three-month basic training course covered military skills, physical and mental conditioning, political education, communications, basic medical training, and mine warfare.

3. KNDF Chair Urges Resistance Forces Not to Surrender to the Military
m.CDM, December 21
The Chair of the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF), Khun Bithu, urged revolutionary leaders, commanders, fighters, and supporting civilians not to surrender or lay down their arms to the coup military.
He made these remarks during the Yadanar Aungman Lucky Draw campaign talk held on the morning of December 21.
Khun Bithu warned that after its planned election, the military may attempt ceasefires or unilateral truces, and resistance forces must avoid falling into the military’s traps.
“This revolution is about changing the system. The worst system in Myanmar today is dictatorship. Only by changing this system can everyone in Myanmar gain development opportunities and freedom. To achieve this, all revolutionary leaders, commanders, fighters, and supporters must not surrender or give up,” he explained.
He also expressed confidence that success is possible because the military is facing international pressure, internal pressure, and unreliable political platforms, while resistance forces hold strategic advantages.
Additionally, Khun Bithu urged opposition to the military’s sham election, which the junta plans to hold on the 28th of this month. The military has announced elections in Loikaw, Bawlakhe, Demoso, and Hpruso townships in Karenni State.
The KNDF is an ethnic armed organization and a member of the Spring Revolution Alliance (SRA), a coalition of 19 revolutionary groups formed on November 21.

Local resistance forces reported that posters opposing the military’s election were erected and displayed along the Myanmar–India border trade route on December 21.
The Kalay Public Strike Steering Committee stated that the posters were put up in cooperation with the Zomi Federal Union (ZFU).
Protest groups thanked organizations that helped display posters bearing messages such as “Don’t legitimize killing with your vote.”
They also warned that while the military is aggressively launching operations in liberated and resistance-controlled areas to hold elections, it will likely force civilians in urban and junta-controlled areas to vote at gunpoint.
Despite this, the Kalay Public Strike Steering Committee and the Zomi Federal Union urged civilians in military-controlled areas to oppose the junta’s sham election using the safest possible methods.
