October 23
Radio NUG
In Karen State’s Myawaddy Township, the military junta’s Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 22 launched a large-scale offensive operation in the Lay Kay Kaw area, deploying over 1,200 troops divided into three tactical columns. Over the course of a month-long operation, approximately 150 junta soldiers, including one Deputy Battalion Commander, were killed, according to The People’s Spring News Agency.
The operation, which began on September 23, involved an estimated 400 troops per column, advancing from the Taw Htar–Kyauk Gu, Lay Kay Kaw, and Thee Meh Wah Khee directions.
Throughout the month, there were around 45 separate clashes, resulting in 150 junta casualties, including the Deputy Battalion Commander, and over 200 others wounded.
Captain Thura Saw Dar Baw stated,
“Most of the soldiers the regime deployed are forcibly conscripted civilians. Many of them are being driven to the frontlines to fight, and those who attempt to flee are executed on the spot. There are many such forced conscripts and ordinary soldiers dying in these battles.”
In addition, four junta soldiers defected and surrendered with their weapons, while one junta soldier was captured alive, and five firearms were seized.
Currently, Revolutionary Joint Forces are continuing counterattacks against junta columns near Min Let Pan and Phalu villages, though several resistance fighters have also been reported injured or fallen in battle.
During the clashes, junta artillery fire caused the deaths of five civilians, injured two others, and burned down dozens of homes in the Lay Kay Kaw area. Many local residents have since been forced to flee for safety.

The column included units from the Myingyan District Battalion 4 and Battalion 10, as well as allied forces from the Pa Ka Pha (Pyithusit militia) and other regime-affiliated groups.
The junta forces used heavy artillery support during the offensive, but the revolutionary joint forces successfully counterattacked. In the ensuing battle, one junta Major and at least seven soldiers were killed. The fighting ended around 5:30 p.m.
The resistance forces seized one MA-5 rifle and one dead junta soldier’s body during the engagement.
On October 1, around 2:13 p.m., junta troops set fire to Myintha Village and continued marching toward Dine Lel Village with a force of over 250 soldiers. After three hours of intense combat, junta troops suffered heavy casualties, lost unit cohesion, and were forced to retreat. Resistance forces captured four soldiers alive and confirmed over ten junta fatalities.

On October 12, during the fourth day of battle, the resistance launched coordinated assaults in both Maline and Taungtha Townships, killing over 20 junta soldiers, including Captain Kyaw Min, who had led troops in widespread atrocities — the rape and murder of over 20 women and the burning of civilian homes. Five junta soldiers were also captured alive.
Weapons seized included:
MA-1 (6 rifles), MA-2 (5 rifles), MA-3 (6 rifles), MA-4 (1 rifle),

Later that same day (October 12), another clash erupted when a 200-strong junta column from Myingyan Battalions 4 and 10 attacked Ein Gyi Taw Village in Maline Township.
The junta suffered heavy losses, prompting reinforcements from Naw Kan Police Station and additional support from Myingyan Battalions 1 and 8, as well as the Pa Ka Pha militias from Nwar Htoke Gyi and Tant Ta U.
