October 19

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) Information and Public Relations Department has confirmed that six civilians — five women and one man — were killed, including a 10-year-old child, and four others were injured when the terrorist junta carried out airstrikes on Kwan Hae Village, Namhkan Township, in the 9th Brigade area of the Ta’ang region in northern Shan State.

According to the report, at 8:25 p.m. on October 18, the junta forces deliberately targeted civilians, dropping two 250-pound bombs from aircraft onto the village. Those killed were identified as Lway Ni Lar Aung (10), Lway Ri Ri Hlaing (21), Lway San San Oo (21), Daw Aye Thaung (35), U Than Kyaw (42), and Daw Aye Hain (47).

The four injured were Maing Kyaw Zay Yu (4), Daw Ei Aye (33), U Kyaw (68), and Daw Saw Yin (77). A total of 25 houses and four motorcycles were also destroyed in the attack.

The previous night, the terrorist junta had also dropped a 500-pound bomb on 11-Mile Village in Kyaukme Township, injuring two monks and damaging one monastery and one monastic building.

Records from the PSLF/TNLA Information and Public Relations Department show that between October 1 and 17, the terrorist junta conducted 27 airstrikes in townships controlled by Ta’ang forces — including one attack on Mantong, three on Kyaukme, five on Hsipaw, one on Mongngawt, four on Monglon, four on Namhkan, five on Namtu, three on Mongmit, and one on Mogok.

Within these 17 days, the junta’s aerial attacks have killed seven children, eleven men, and fourteen women; and injured eleven children, fourteen men, and fifteen women. The bombings also destroyed 113 houses, three schools, two monasteries, six monastic buildings, and four other structures.

In light of these ongoing aerial assaults, the TNLA continues to issue near-daily warnings urging civilians to remain vigilant and to adhere to protective measures against airstrikes, to minimize casualties from the junta’s indiscriminate attacks.

🚩🚩 2. Junta attacked Laiza six times this year using suicide drones, KIA reports

October 19

The Kachin Independence Organization/Army (KIO/KIA) has revealed that the terrorist junta has attacked Laiza, the KIO/KIA headquarters, six times this year using suicide drones.

According to the KIO/KIA Information Department, the junta carried out another drone attack on October 16 at around 11 p.m., and the incident was reported in an official statement released on October 18.

The attack injured two Chinese vendors (a married couple) who were selling vegetables at Laiza’s municipal market, and several market stalls were also damaged.

The KIO/KIA further reported that similar drone attacks were launched against Laiza in September, making this the sixth such attack of the year.

Historically, whenever junta troops have suffered defeats in ground battles with KIA forces, they have resorted to aerial bombardments and artillery shelling targeting Laiza. More recently, however, as the junta’s military bases near Laiza have been overrun, the regime has increasingly shifted to using combat drones instead of conventional heavy weapons, according to field reports.

🚩🚩 3. Two junta soldiers killed, seven injured in attack on troops stationed inside Aung Thapyay Monastery compound, Launglon

October 19

The People’s Defense Organization (PDO) of Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, has announced that two junta soldiers were killed and seven injured in an attack on junta troops stationed within the Aung Thapyay Monastery compound in Launglon town.

The clash occurred on the morning of October 17, beginning at around 5:15 a.m. and lasting for about one and a half hours, during which both sides exchanged gunfire.

The junta troops stationed inside Aung Thapyay Monastery were known for routinely intimidating and oppressing local civilians — harassing passersby, arbitrarily detaining youths, forcing conscription, extorting money from travelers, and seizing civilian goods. Locals said these ongoing acts of terrorism prompted the attack.

The PDO reported that two junta soldiers were confirmed dead, while among the seven wounded, two were critically injured.

This operation was a joint attack carried out by the Dawei District Joint Forces and the Launglon Than Mani Lipyar Defense Team, under coordinated command. No casualties were reported among the revolutionary forces.

The Launglon PDO reaffirmed its commitment to continue fighting the fascist military dictatorship until its total elimination, declaring that the junta is the common enemy of the entire population.
