October 10

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) reported on the night of October 9 that seven civilians—including two children—were killed when the terrorist military forces launched an unprovoked airstrike on Momeik Township, located in northern Shan State.

According to TNLA, at around 7 p.m. on October 9, the junta forces dropped three 250-pound bombs on Weh Baung Village in Momeik Township, killing four men and three women instantly, and injuring eight others.

In addition, ten civilian homes were hit and destroyed by the blasts from the military’s bombing.

TNLA also confirmed that on October 7, the junta carried out another airstrike on Man Hun Village in Mainlong Township, dropping two 250-pound bombs from aircraft. That attack killed ten civilians—including one child—and injured three others.

Since the junta announced on October 1 that it had retaken control of Kyaukme, it has continued near-daily airstrikes on territories under TNLA control.

In response, TNLA urged local civilians to remain alert to military activities and to practice all possible measures for air-raid protection to safeguard their lives against the junta’s repeated aerial attacks.

🚩🚩 2. Junta launches renewed airstrike and machine-gun attack on Thi Khi Village, Tanintharyi Region
October 10

According to the Karen National Union (KNU) of Myeik–Dawei District, the terrorist junta forces launched a fresh air and ground attack this morning, October 10, targeting Thi Khi Village in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region.

At around 8 a.m., the junta deployed FTC-2000G fighter jets to bomb the village twice and followed up with two rounds of strafing using onboard machine guns, the KNU reported.

The attack damaged and destroyed civilian properties, forcing local residents to flee their homes in search of safety.

Thi Khi Village—also known as Mae Thamee Khi—was seized by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 4 in May this year. Since October 8, the junta has begun aerial assaults on the area, according to local reports.

The KNU’s statement from October 8 confirmed that over 350 civilians have been displaced and are now taking refuge in safer areas.

Sources from KNLA Brigade 4 said many villagers have been fleeing toward the Myanmar–Thailand border since the day the junta airstrikes began.

The KNU of Myeik–Dawei District stated that the junta’s air offensives are aimed at instilling fear among civilians in liberated areas, maintaining its hold on power, and forcing through a sham election under its control.

October 10

According to Battalion 2 of Pyay District, Bago Region, a local People’s Defense leader named Hla Myint was captured alive but later shot dead after resisting arrest by the terrorist junta forces, who have been conducting raids and arresting youth across Pyay Township in connection with preparations for their unlawful election.

The report states that on the morning of October 6, around 10 a.m., junta forces apprehended Hla Myint, the leader of the local People’s Defense group from Khway Ye Chin Yoke Kone Village, in Paung Talin Village Tract, near Wan Tin Seik Village.

The arrest was carried out by soldiers from Battalion 2 (3602) and Battalion 1 (3601) under the command of Bago Regional Command’s Tactical Operation 21, who later claimed that Hla Myint was shot and killed after he tried to break free during questioning.

The junta forces seized one CO₂ gas pistol, used to fire projectiles with explosive charges, a motorbike, and a mobile phone from him, according to their announcement.

The deceased, Hla Myint, was identified as the leader of the Pyusawhti militia in northern Paung Talin, who had been working closely with the junta by collecting information about local youths, supplying intelligence to the Paung Talin Police Station and military officers, and assisting in preparations for the junta’s unlawful election.

Reports indicate that Hla Myint’s Pyusawhti group had been actively conducting door-to-door population checks, enforcing forced military conscription, and making arbitrary arrests in the Paung Talin area and nearby villages.

Following the seizure of Hla Myint’s phone, junta intelligence units claimed to have obtained lists of resistance members from Paung Talin and Wethee Kan areas, and said they would pursue “effective actions” against those allegedly aiding the People’s Defense Forces or the junta’s election campaign.
