Myanmar Military News Updates – Oct 02, 2025 Morning

🚩🚩 1. One civilian injured in Momeik due to Military Council airstrike

PSLF/TNLA reported that one man was injured when the Military Council carried out an aerial bombing attack on Yet Htut Gyi village, located in the western part of Momeik, an area under the control of PSLF/TNLA Brigade 4, in Mandalay Region.

On October 1 at about 10:49 a.m., the Military Council deliberately dropped two 250-pound bombs on Yet Htut Gyi village, where civilians reside.

During the attack, one man was injured, and one house was destroyed.

Within the past month of September, the Military Council conducted 10 airstrikes against towns under PSLF/TNLA control, killing two civilians, injuring six others, and destroying no fewer than 40 buildings including schools, monasteries, and homes.

🚩🚩 2. Military Council using suicide drones to carry out daily bombings near Myawaddy as their ground columns fail to advance; heavy troop casualties in Kyondoe battles

From September 26 to October 1, the terrorist Military Council has been carrying out continuous attacks with suicide drones against Min Let Pan, Phalu, and Meh Taw Thalay areas on the outskirts of Myawaddy, Karen State.

They alleged that Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) troops were present in schools and monasteries, and bombed those locations.

Additionally, in battles that occurred throughout September in Chaung Phyar, Inn Gyi, and Kyun Byine villages in Kyondoe Township, about 100 junta soldiers were killed. Reportedly, their bodies were buried at Inn Gyi village cemetery.

On the other side of the Gyaing River, in Gyaing Ywarthit cemetery, the junta arrested graveyard workers and forced them to bury corpses. However, due to the large number of bodies, decomposing corpses are lying along roadsides.

On September 30, injured junta soldiers from Kyondoe, Chaung Phyar, Gyaing Ywarthit, and Kyarkalay villages were transported by ambulances to Taung Kalay Hospital in Hpa-An, which is now overcrowded with wounded soldiers.

Meanwhile, in Kyondoe town, regime security teams (SRF), police, Border Guard Force (BGF), and Pyu Saw Htee militias have been conducting checks and surveillance, targeting supporters of the National League for Democracy (NLD) and people linked with the People’s Defense Forces (PDF). They are reportedly searching for grounds to arrest and detain them.

🚩🚩 3. Military Council troops stationed at Laung Lone administrative offices attacked

The Kanbauk Defense Force announced that resistance joint forces attacked junta troops stationed at Laung Lone Township administrative office and immigration office in Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region.

On September 30 at 6:30 a.m., resistance joint forces launched simultaneous attacks on junta and Pyu Saw Htee troops, numbering about 70, stationed at the offices.

The battle lasted around two hours. Junta casualties were reported, though exact numbers could not yet be confirmed.

The attack was carried out jointly by Daung Column-3 (KBDF), Daung Battalion-7 (LPF), Federal Star Force (FPF), Dawei District PDF (DDPDF), and the Ramanya Mon Army (RMA). Two resistance fighters were injured.

🚩🚩 4. Two junta soldiers killed in ambush after collecting military conscription fees

The Tharyawaddy District Battalion 3802, Company 2, announced that resistance forces attacked junta soldiers and police who had just finished collecting conscription fees in Kanpyokyi village, Moat Inn village tract, Letpandan Township, Tharyawaddy District, Bago Region.

On October 1 at about 9:30 a.m., a resistance force of more than 20 fighters ambushed the junta-police team at Theikawseik junction.

The clash lasted about 40 minutes with both sides exchanging heavy and light weapons fire. Eventually, the junta-police force suffered losses and retreated in disarray.

Resistance fighters seized:

  • 2 bodies of junta/police troops
  • 1 G-3 rifle
  • 1 carbine
  • 4 magazines
  • 42 rounds of carbine ammunition
  • 2 grenades
  • 1 knife
  • 2 insignia badges
  • 1 mobile phone
  • 1 ID card
  • 528,000 kyats in cash

After suffering casualties, the junta randomly shelled the area with heavy artillery. Residents were warned to remain cautious as further clashes may occur.

🚩🚩 5. Yangon Regional Command supplies weapons and ammunition to Yangon PDF; recruitment of new members ongoing

Yangon PDF announced that the Yangon Regional Command has supplied weapons, ammunition, and bulletproof vests to Yangon PDF.

The supplies included 10 firearms, 1,000 rounds of ammunition, and 9 bulletproof vests, which were handed over to Yangon PDF. They were transferred to frontline units of Yangon PDF’s Attack Force 6, Company 3.

In addition, Yangon PDF Battalion 1 announced that it is recruiting new members, particularly young people of strong conviction and commitment.

🚩🚩 6. Five MA-1 rifles captured in battle presented as honor awards to township PDFs

Sagaing Region, Khine U Township PDF announced that five MA-1 rifles seized during recent battles were ceremonially awarded to various township PDF units on October 1.

The weapons presentation ceremony was attended by township Pa-Ah-Pha (PDF Central Command) leaders and members, township PDF leaders, deputy leaders, EC members, battalion commanders, sub-commanders, leaders of village PDF units (1–5), and Urban Guerrilla groups.

During the event, township PDF leaders, deputy leaders, training officers, armory officers, rescue officers, and communications officers presented the rifles to the respective township PDF units, which formally accepted them.

🚩🚩 7. Two soldiers from Infantry Battalion 280 defect and join KNLA Brigade 4, Battalion 11

The Karen National Union (KNU) announced that on October 1, two junta soldiers from Infantry Battalion 280, based in Tanintharyi Township, Myeik-Dawei District, defected and joined the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 4, Battalion 11.

The defectors had been forcibly conscripted by the junta, trained at a conscription camp, and deployed to the frontlines in Thayinkone. They managed to escape without weapons and surrendered to the KNLA.

The KNU urged all junta soldiers who are forcibly conscripted to surrender their arms and join the resistance forces by whatever means possible.

🚩🚩 8. In the third week of September, 34 soldiers and police defected; 8 captured

People’s Goal (Pyithu Pantai) reported that in the third week of September 2025, a total of 42 junta personnel and people’s militia members either defected or were captured as prisoners of war.

Among the 34 defectors, 33 were junta soldiers and 1 was a member of the People’s Militia. They came from Bago (3), Tanintharyi (6), Magway (9), and Sagaing (15). Of these, 19 were newly conscripted troops under the conscription law.

Meanwhile, among the 8 captured as prisoners of war, there were 3 soldiers, 4 police, and 1 people’s militia member—all from Sagaing. Two of the 3 captured soldiers were also newly conscripted.

From January 2025 to the third week of September 2025, a total of 2,089 soldiers, police, and militia members have either defected or been captured.
