📌📌 1. Meeting Between Prison Department Officials, Prison Wardens, and Union Minister for Justice U Thein Oo

According to reports, the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Justice, Department of Prisons, and township prison wardens and detention supervisors convened the Meeting No. (3/2025) on October 15 at 10:00 a.m. (Myanmar Standard Time).
The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Justice U Thein Oo, Deputy Permanent Secretary U Joseph, Director-General of the Prison Department U Myo Aung, Director U Suta, heads and members of departmental offices, field communication officers, and wardens and detention supervisors from 18 townships, according to information received.
In his opening remarks, Union Minister U Thein Oo stated that all officials and personnel under the Prison Department were serving an extremely important duty. He emphasized that their work contributed to the success of the revolution and was therefore a matter of great honor. Their efforts, he noted, benefited not only the revolution but also the broader public.
The minister explained that individuals currently serving prison sentences had been convicted by the courts for criminal offenses committed within the governed territories. Once these individuals complete their respective sentences, it is crucial to ensure their reintegration into society as responsible citizens.
He stressed the need to help inmates recognize that committing crimes was a moral failure, and to reform their mindset so they would not repeat such offenses in the future.
He further noted that the opportunity to help inmates rehabilitate and reintegrate into society lies in the hands of the Prison Department officials, wardens, and detention supervisors, who must use that opportunity effectively and meaningfully.
He encouraged participants to use the meeting as a chance to discuss their challenges, expectations, and suggestions openly, adding that if the session achieved such exchanges, it would yield truly positive results.
Finally, he expressed his gratitude to every participant who made time to attend.
Afterward, discussions were held to review the progress and implementation of tasks outlined in Meeting No. (2/2025), address pre-submitted questions from prison wardens and supervisors, and conduct general discussions.
Following these deliberations, the Union Minister for Justice approved the decisions and future work plans before delivering closing remarks.

📌📌 2. Justice For Myanmar Urges ASEAN to End Complicity in the Junta’s International Crimes and Reject the Sham Election

Justice For Myanmar (JFM) has called on ASEAN to end its complicity in the international crimes committed by Myanmar’s military junta and to oppose the regime’s efforts to hold a fraudulent and illegitimate election.
This appeal was issued ahead of the 47th ASEAN Summit scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
According to JFM’s statement, ASEAN’s Five-Point Consensus has failed to bring any progress, while the junta continues its brutal military offensives and transnational crimes against civilians, aided and abetted by support from ASEAN member states and regional businesses.
JFM accused ASEAN-based companies of supporting the junta through their involvement in sectors such as aviation fuel, oil and gas, timber, and technology, thereby enabling its ongoing atrocities.
The statement highlighted that while the junta is preparing for a sham election, it continues to carry out airstrikes, mass killings, sexual violence, torture, and village burnings, while illegally detaining over 22,000 people, intensifying internet censorship, and expanding surveillance operations.
JFM urged ASEAN to reject the junta’s sham election, bar its representatives from ASEAN meetings, and support the Myanmar people’s struggle for democracy and justice.
The group also called on ASEAN member states and their businesses to cut financial, arms, technological, and aviation fuel support to the junta.
JFM spokesperson Yadanar Maung stated that the junta’s so-called election was not a path to democracy, but rather a scheme designed to legitimize its violent rule.

📌📌 3. Women and Child Protection (WCP) Training Successfully Conducted in 17 Townships Across Sagaing and Magway Regions

The Ministry of Human Rights under the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that Women and Child Protection (WCP) training programs were successfully conducted across 17 townships in Sagaing and Magway Regions during September and October, despite ongoing conflict.
The training covered key topics including:
- Children in Armed Conflict,
- Child Rights,
- Child Protection,
- Gender-Based Violence (GBV),
- The Six Grave Violations against children (such as killing, maiming, sexual exploitation, and recruitment of child soldiers),
- Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV),
- Rights and protections for LGBTQIA+ individuals, and
- Relevant laws issued by the NUG concerning these issues.
Sessions included interactive discussions, analysis of ground-level realities, and group activities between participants and trainers.
Trainees included local men, women, and gender-diverse participants, education staff, persons with disabilities, and revolutionary fighters.
More than 80% of participants were women.
In their feedback, participants said the training should be expanded to more communities, as it provided valuable knowledge not only on women’s and children’s rights but also on gender equality and the importance of preventing violence.
They emphasized that such training should be provided to families and community leaders alike, as the topics were vital for all sectors of society.
The trainings were led by human rights officers, with participation from relevant ministerial representatives in certain townships.
The Ministry of Human Rights reaffirmed its continued commitment to documenting the junta’s human rights violations, pursuing international accountability, and promoting public education programs like these.
The NUG stated that it remains steadfast in standing alongside the people throughout the revolution.

📌📌 4. Dipeyin Township People’s Administration Conducts Agricultural Department’s Monsoon Rice Season Activities

The Agriculture Department under the Dipeyin Township People’s Administration has announced that it is actively assisting local farmers by visiting paddy fields to identify and address pest and disease problems during the 2025 monsoon rice season.
The department has also been coordinating with seed production companies and model farmers to ensure access to high-quality and pure paddy seeds, and to promote collaborative crop production.
It was also noted that during the previous summer rice season, the department successfully carried out relief food support for internally displaced people (IDPs).

📌📌 5. Tax Exemptions and Membership Cards Issued to Vehicle Owners Supporting the Revolution in Min Tat Township

The Min Tat Township People’s Administration announced that it has issued membership cards to local vehicle owners who contributed to logistical support for the revolution, including those who served during the 15-day Min Tat town offensive.
Holders of these membership cards are exempt from paying toll taxes at checkpoints within Min Tat Township.
Additionally, in coordination with the Saw Township People’s Administration, it was decided that cardholders will also be exempt from local vehicle taxes within Saw Township (previously set at 500,000 MMK for small vehicles and 1,000,000 MMK for large vehicles).
However, commercial goods taxes will still apply.
For vehicle owners whose membership cards are lost, damaged, or pending verification, the statement said they can obtain certificates of participation in revolutionary logistics at the Min Tat Township People’s Administration Office to secure continued tax exemption.
