🚩🚩 1. NUG Announces Capture of Banmauk Town

The Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that Banmauk Town in Banmauk Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region, was successfully captured on September 20, following an assault that began on September 15 under the command of the NUG Ministry of Defense’s Military Region (1).

According to the announcement, during the Banmauk town offensive, combined forces successfully attacked and captured military junta strongholds, including the SNA Brigade (614, 972) commanded by strategist Yint Htun, as well as police forces and Pyusawhti militias numbering about 400. The following bases and locations were seized: Kakingone in Myit Theik Chin Village, Tawataungone in Myit Theik Chin Village, Aung Kanbazin KTV, Kywe Kaukone Village, the monastery in Myit Theik Chin Village, Danbo fuel station, Bangalowkone, Naryakar Village, Sakto Village, Kyun Taung base, Banmauk Town’s strategic hill, Aungthakone Village base, Lwazin Kone monastery, Banmauk City High School, Banmauk Police Station, Myananda monastery, and the Nationalities Development Training School (Na Tha La).

Weapons and ammunition seized from enemy forces include: 2 G-3 rifles, 1 Uzi, 1 AK, 12,876 assorted rounds of ammunition, twenty-eight 120mm shells, seven 81mm shells, fourteen 60mm shells, one hundred drone-dropped bombs, one RPG, eighty-three tear gas grenades, 702 9-volt rounds, fifty-one Inaga shells, 3 landmines, 20 types of anti-personnel mines, 7 fiber mines, ten 9mm cowboy rounds, 29 assorted magazines, and other related equipment. Additionally, 7 enemy corpses were recovered, including that of one SNA officer.

During the battle, junta forces launched 10 aerial bombing attacks using jet fighters. However, revolutionary forces managed to intercept and attack a reinforcement column advancing from Kyauk Lwi Village base toward Banmauk, destroying one vehicle in the process.

The Banmauk offensive was commanded by Military Region (1) leadership, involving the operational commander of Military Region (1) and the commander of Katha District. Participating forces included Katha District Battalions (2, 4, 5), Katha District Special Operation Groups (Battalions 1 and 3), two NCO graduate columns from Military Region (1), special task battalions, Katha District Pa Ka Pha (PDF) groups, Banmauk Pa Ka Pha, Hti Chauk Pa Ka Pha, Katha Pa Ka Pha, the 1st Artillery Battalion, Katha District artillery groups, and drone teams.

Currently, junta troops around Banmauk are stationed at Shwe Chaung Village, Pin Hinkha Village, and Thaya Kone Village, while the majority have retreated toward Man Kone Village in the north of Banmauk Township and Ahnauk Taw Village in the west.

🚩🚩 2. Intercept Attack in Khin U: Many Junta Soldiers Killed, Including a Deputy Lieutenant Colonel; Two Captured Alive

The People’s Defense Force (PDF) of Khin U Township announced that an interception attack on a junta column in Khin U Township resulted in heavy casualties, including the death of a Deputy Lieutenant Colonel, a three-star officer, senior sergeants, and other soldiers.

On September 22, at around 7 a.m., a junta column of about 90 troops from Shwebo Training Regiment (8) and Botekone (Pyu) Village, which had set out from Khin U Township’s military base, was ambushed by revolutionary forces at the Khin U–Shwebo border. The battle lasted for about five hours.

During the clash, many junta soldiers were killed or wounded, including the Deputy Lieutenant Colonel and the three-star officer, while the column was broken apart. Two junta soldiers were captured alive as prisoners of war.

Captured weapons and equipment include: 4 MA3 rifles, 5 MA1 rifles, 1 BA-63/G3 rifle, 1 cowboy rifle, 1 BA100/60mm Commando mortar (short), 1 MA-5 pistol, 3 steel MA magazines, 6 polymer MA magazines, 3 BA-63/G3 magazines, 1 MA-5 pistol magazine, 4 anti-personnel mines, 2 landmines, 4 60mm shells, 4 RPG rounds, 2 Inaga shells, 6 helmets, 286 rounds of 5.56mm, 7 rounds of 9mm, and 5,290,000 kyats in cash.

The attack was carried out jointly by Military Region (2), Shwebo District Battalion (3), Khin U Pa Ka Pha, Township Pa Ka Pha columns (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), and Khin U Township Pa La Pha, all of whom successfully withdrew without casualties.

It is further noted that on September 18, this same junta column from Shwebo Training Regiment (8) and Botekone (Pyu) Village had also been attacked by revolutionary forces upon entering Khin U Township, where it was routed and forced to retreat chaotically.

🚩🚩 3. Four Junta Soldiers Injured in Tamotcho Village Ambush; Curfew Imposed on Myeik–Tanintharyi Highway

According to PDF Zone (4) of Tanintharyi Township, a junta unit stationed in Tamotcho Village, Tanintharyi Township, was attacked on September 16, resulting in four soldiers being wounded.

In the morning of September 16, PDF Zone (4) launched the first assault, in which three junta soldiers were seriously injured. On September 20, at about 2 p.m., another attack was carried out, injuring one more soldier.

Separately, when junta forces attempted to advance into Mawtaung border town in Tanintharyi Township, clashes broke out near Thein Khun Village with allied revolutionary forces, leading to intense fighting.

Reports also indicate that the junta is forcibly using civilian passenger vehicles on the Myeik–Tanintharyi Highway as cover for military operations.

Due to the likelihood of further battles along this route, authorities announced a restriction on civilian travel along the highway between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily, starting September 22.

🚩🚩 4. Four Junta Soldiers Killed in Pakokku Cement Factory Raid

According to the Pakokku Special Task Force, four junta soldiers were killed in a lightning raid on a junta unit stationed at the concrete pillar factory near Pakokku railway station in Magway Region.

At around 1:40 a.m. on September 22, seven PDF fighters from Battalion (1) of Pakokku Township, led by Commander Yebaw Dee, stormed the junta outpost.

The attack killed four junta soldiers, and the revolutionary forces seized 1 G3 rifle, 1 7.62mm cowboy rifle, 1 AK rifle, and about 50 rounds of ammunition.

This mission was carried out as a demonstration against the sham election organized by the junta in Pakokku Township. All PDF fighters successfully withdrew without casualties.

🚩🚩 5. Three Civilians, Including a Child, Killed in Salaw Township Airstrike; Two PDF Fighters Killed by Friendly Fire in Lahi Hsin Region

At around 2:25 p.m. on September 22, in Lanse Village, Salaw Township, Kachin State, a military aircraft dropped bombs on a site where children were playing, according to local reports.

The explosion killed three people—a child, one man, and one woman—and injured two other civilians.

Meanwhile, in the Lahi Hsin area of Salaw Township, amid ongoing clashes between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and junta troops, an errant bombing by junta aircraft mistakenly struck their allied People’s Defense Force (PDF) unit, killing two members.

Since September 20, KIA and allied forces have been attacking joint junta-PDF columns advancing from Hkawnglanhpu Township into the Lahi Hsin area. Facing losses, the junta has responded with continuous airstrikes.

It is reported that in 2024, the two PDF bases in the Lahi Hsin area—Lahi Hsin base and Khrawnthee Dam base—were captured by joint forces of KIA, Putao PDF, and the Kachin People’s Defense Force (KPF).

🚩🚩 6. Civilian Killed and 17 Injured in Airstrike on Kisu Village School, Kanbalu Township

At around 1:24 a.m. on September 22, without any active fighting in the area, a junta jet fighter dropped two 500-pound bombs on a school in Kisu Village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, according to local sources.

The attack killed Daw Than Aye (age 55) and injured 17 others, including: Daw Shwin (63), Ko Myint Oo (55), Ko Aung Shan (40), Ko Wain Sein (20), Daw Pain (54), Zithun (23), Mi Mi (20), Tin San Win (21), Puto (21), Ko Kyaw Soe (45), Ko Too (45), Ma Khaing Mar Win (20), Ma Gyi (15), Ma Nge (15), Kyaw Zin Htet (8), and Ko Aung Win (52). The school and nearby homes were also damaged.

It is noted that Kisu Village has already suffered two previous arson attacks by junta troops. In 2022, around 700 houses were destroyed, forcing residents to rebuild makeshift shelters, where displaced civilians are now residing.

Similarly, at around 9:20 a.m. on September 22, the junta carried out another heavy bombardment with 31 bombs using a Y-12 aircraft over Pontawtawkyaw, located along the border of Pauk Township and Tilin Township.

🚩🚩 7. Eight Junta Soldiers Defect in Pulaw Township, Tanintharyi Region, and Myothit Township, Tamu District

Eight junta soldiers defected in Tanintharyi Region’s Pulaw Township (Laemulaa area, under KNU Myeik–Dawei District Brigade 4 control) and in Myothit Township, Tamu District, Sagaing Region.

On September 17, seven newly conscripted soldiers from Training School (12) based in Palauk Town deserted without arms and defected to KNDO Battalion (7), Company (5), according to an announcement from KNU Myeik–Dawei District.

The defectors had previously been working in Thailand, were arrested, deported to Myanmar, and forcibly conscripted into the junta military.

Similarly, on August 3, a deputy sergeant from Infantry Battalion (347), based in Kyun Pin Tha Village, Myothit Township, Tamu District, defected with his weapon, according to Infantry Battalion (2) of Tamu District.

The defector, Deputy Sergeant Thant Zin Oo, surrendered with one MA-11 rifle, one magazine, and twenty-five 5.56mm rounds. For this, he was awarded a cash honorarium of 500,000 kyats by the battalion.

🚩🚩 8. CDF-Daai Expresses Gratitude to CDF-Mindat and AA at Its 4th Anniversary Ceremony

The Chinland Defense Force–Daai (CDF-Daai) celebrated its 4th anniversary on September 21, 2025, reaffirming its commitment to the complete eradication of military dictatorship and the establishment of a federal democratic union, according to an official statement.

At the ceremony, CDF-Daai expressed gratitude to organizations that had supported their formation and revolutionary efforts. In particular, they gave special thanks to CDF-Mindat for providing military training, noting that CDF-Mindat had conducted weekly basic and advanced courses during the early stages of CDF-Daai’s development, playing a crucial role in building their capacity.

They also expressed deep gratitude to the Arakan Army (AA) for providing military training, arms and ammunition support, logistics assistance, and frontline combat experience. CDF-Daai pledged to continue building a long-term, durable alliance with the AA.

The statement further honored those who had sacrificed their lives or lost limbs in the revolution over the past four years. It highlighted the successful establishment of the Daai Regional Council (DRC), a governing administrative unit within the Daai region, and reaffirmed their commitment to continue collaborating with other revolutionary forces for Chin national development and the rebuilding of Chinland.

CDF-Daai also extended appreciation to donors inside and outside Myanmar for their assistance and urged continued support to sustain the momentum of the revolution.
