Myanmar Military News Updates – Sep 21, 2025 Evening

🚩🚩 1. “In the revolution, no one bears a greater responsibility than the people,” says KNDF Commander-in-Chief Khur Reedu

During the revolution, no one carries a greater responsibility than the people, said Khur Reedu, Commander-in-Chief of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF).

He made these remarks while meeting with comrades of KNDF Battalion 6 in a liberated area.

KNDF Battalion 6 also released a statement confirming that its comrades met with Commander-in-Chief Khur Reedu on September 19.

“The people carry the ultimate responsibility in the revolution. No matter from which perspective one thinks about it, the people are the ones who bear the greatest responsibility. No one bears more responsibility than the people. That is why they deserve compassion and empathy,” Commander-in-Chief Khur Reedu stated.

He further cautioned that in the Spring Revolution, the strength of the people is crucial, and without their support, no cause can succeed.

He emphasized that if the people’s support and encouragement decline, the Spring Revolution will not succeed. Therefore, he urged all comrades in battalions and units to strive to be loyal citizens who remain faithful to the people.

During the meeting, officers of KNDF Battalion 6 presented updates on military operations, challenges, and needs. Commander-in-Chief Khur Reedu took notes of the needs and gave instructions on addressing them along with providing military guidance.

He also urged KNDF troops to respect the Karenni National Flag properly by wearing full uniforms and insignia, as they are not civilians. He added that they should maintain their hairstyles in accordance with military discipline.

The meeting also discussed:

  • the future programs of the upcoming United Karenni State Army (UKSA),
  • benefits for comrades who have been fighting for four years.

According to the statement from Battalion 6, the meeting was attended by Commander-in-Chief Khur Reedu, officials from KNDF Strategy 4, as well as officers and comrades from Battalion 6.

🚩🚩 2. The terrorist military air force bombs Kyaukme town again

September 21

The PSLF/TNLA Information and Communication Department reported that the terrorist military again carried out aerial bombing attacks on Kyaukme town, which falls within T’ang Military Command Region 2 in northern Shan State.

On September 20, around 1:30 p.m., the terrorist military dropped a 500-pound bomb on Ward 2 of Kyaukme town.

Although the bomb fell in Ward 2, local residents said it landed in the outskirts of town in an area with no homes, only industrial farmland.

The PSLF/TNLA explained that there had been no ongoing battle at the time, and the bombing was deliberately targeted against civilians.

It was also recalled that on September 9, the terrorist military dropped three 250-pound bombs by air and two bombs by drone on Lwelkhaw village in Nanhaw tract of Kyaukme Township, destroying farmland and paddy fields.

Due to frequent aerial bombing attacks by the terrorist military, PSLF/TNLA urged local residents to remain alert to military warnings, and to follow air defense safety measures in order to minimize harm.

🚩🚩 3. Two conscripted soldiers from LIB-280 defect to KNLA

Two conscripted soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 280 under the terrorist military have defected to the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), according to the KNU Myeik-Tavoy District Public Relations and Information Department.

On September 20, the two soldiers defected without weapons to KNLA 4th Brigade, Battalion 11, the statement released today, September 21, said.

It was explained that the two had been working in Thailand but were arrested and deported back to Myanmar through Kawthaung.

They were forcibly made to attend a three-month military conscription training at Kyunsu town under the terrorist military. Afterwards, they were deployed to the frontline in Theinkhun village, where they seized the chance to escape and defect to KNLA Battalion 11 without weapons.

🚩🚩 4. KTLA prohibits night travel on Ye–Dawei road due to security concerns

September 21

Due to security concerns, the Kawthoolei Army (KTLA) has prohibited nighttime use of the Ye–Dawei road.

The KTLA Star Light Battalion Information and Communication Department announced today, September 21, that the prohibition would take effect starting immediately.

The statement explained that the ban was issued jointly by KNLA 6th Brigade Battalion 27 and allied forces, together with the Star Light Sakapaw Battalion, which are currently engaged in joint military operations.

The prohibition applies daily from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., starting September 21, with no set end date.

The KTLA Star Light Battalion urged travelers and local residents to comply for their own safety, as the restriction is necessary for security in ongoing revolutionary operations.

They explained that the announcement serves as a precaution to prevent undesirable incidents for civilians using the road.

The allied revolutionary forces also declared that they would not take responsibility for any incidents resulting from violations of this prohibition.
