🚩🚩 1. Worldwide United Arakan Network Condemns the Terrorist Military for Bombing and Killing Students in Arakan

September 17

The Worldwide United Arakan Network (WUAN) has strongly condemned the terrorist military for bombing and killing students in Arakan.

WUAN issued a bilingual (Myanmar–English) statement today, September 17, dated September 15, denouncing the terrorist military’s attack on Panya Pan Khin Private High School and Amiyin Thit Private High School in Tharyetapin Village, Kyauktaw Township, where bombs were dropped at midnight.

The statement declared:

“We, the Worldwide United Arakan Network, strongly condemn the deliberate, brutal, and inhumane bombing and massacre of schoolchildren while they were asleep at night in their dormitories.”

According to the statement, on September 12 at around 1:00 a.m., the terrorist air force deliberately dropped two 500-pound bombs on the two private high schools in Tharyetapin Village — Panya Pan Khin and Amiyin Thit.

As a result of this inhumane attack, 19 students aged 15 to 17 were initially killed and 22 others were seriously injured. Later, three of the critically injured students also died, bringing the total number of student deaths to 22.

The statement further highlighted that the terrorist fascist military council has completely disregarded the Geneva Conventions’ obligations to protect civilians in armed conflict. Instead, it has been deliberately targeting schools, religious buildings, and civilian areas across Arakan, committing war crimes in blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

WUAN also strongly condemned the terrorist military for indiscriminately bombing schools, hospitals, religious sites, towns, and villages from the air, destroying the lives, homes, and livelihoods of innocent civilians.
