Myanmar Military News Updates – Sep 15, 2025 Morning

🚩🚩 1. Three killed in attack on junta checkpoint along Salin–Sin Phyu Kyun road

According to the People’s Defense Force – Salin (Salin Pa Ka Pha), three were killed when resistance forces attacked a junta checkpoint along the Salin–Sin Phyu Kyun road, north of Salin town in Magway Region.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on September 7, when resistance forces attacked the checkpoint, which had been set up for three weeks by about 20 junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia members.

It is reported that during the clash, three individuals—junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee sentries—were killed.

Earlier that same day, around 10 a.m., junta forces conducting forced portering and arbitrary arrests in Salin and Sin Phyu Kyun townships were attacked with both heavy and light weapons near Myint Tin Ward and close to Salin Central Market. The troops retreated back to the Salin police station.

Following the incidents, junta forces launched clearance operations along the Salin–Sin Phyu Kyun road. The Salin Pa Ka Pha has warned local residents and youths to exercise caution while traveling and living in the area.

🚩🚩 2. Around 40 junta soldiers killed in clashes with resistance in Budalin Township

The Student Armed Force (SAF) announced that about 40 junta soldiers were killed during clashes in Budalin Township, Sagaing Region, against a junta column advancing from the Northwestern Command in Monywa Township.

The 300-strong junta column was first attacked with two drone-dropped bombs near Kan Thar Village on August 31, which led to close-range clashes.

Later that evening, the same column was ambushed twice with landmines near Kone Thar Village. Resistance forces reported that about 40 junta soldiers were killed during these engagements.

The junta troops also burned and destroyed A Nyaung Ze Taw Village, Shwe Taung Village, Kan Thar Village, and Htoo Gyi Village’s charitable hospital. On September 8, the column retreated to Nyaung Ma Kine (NMaK) via Budalin Township.

The attacks were jointly carried out by the Student Armed Force (SAF), Budalin Mobile Team, Anonymous Hero, Yatanarbon Revolution Force, Battalion 505 under the command of the Burma Army No. (2) Headquarters, Ywazawgyi Voice of Revolution (Media & Strike Team), Monywa District Battalion (18), Budalin Pa Ka Pha, and Monywa Pa La Pha.

🚩🚩 3. Junta troops commit atrocities in Taungtha’s Yonesi Gyi Village

The Taungtha People’s Strike Committee has reported that junta troops stationed in Yonesi Gyi Village, Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, are committing atrocities including indiscriminate artillery shelling, arson, looting, and sexual violence.

Around 11 a.m. on September 10, junta troops entered Yonesi Gyi and established a temporary base, detaining many villagers.

It is reported that the troops sexually assaulted three women, including one who had been hiding in a bomb shelter and another who was delivering food to her husband.

On September 11, around 11 a.m., the junta troops burned down civilian homes in the northern part of Yonesi Gyi, and on September 12, around 10 a.m., they again set fire to homes in the Nibbutar Ward.

Similarly, on the morning of September 14, they torched the Pan Paung road junction checkpoint. At present, they are stationed in Yonesi Gyi Village with 120mm artillery and are firing daily toward the northwest.

🚩🚩 4. Junta airstrike in Matayar kills a child monk, a nun, and a civilian

According to Voice of Mandalay, a junta airstrike near Ingyin Myain Village in Matayar Township, Mandalay Region, killed a child novice monk, a nun, and a civilian.

At around 7 p.m. on September 13, without any ongoing clashes in the area, the junta forces deliberately targeted civilians and dropped 12 bombs from a Y-12 aircraft.

During the bombing, an 11-year-old novice monk, a 70-year-old nun, and a 40-year-old woman were killed.

It is reported that the terrorist junta forces are carrying out daily aerial bombardments on villages in Matayar Township, forcing local civilians to flee in search of safety.

🚩🚩 5. Two new conscript soldiers defect in Tharyar Chaung and Meiktila

It has been announced that two newly conscripted soldiers defected separately in Tharyar Chaung Township, Tanintharyi Region, and in Meiktila Township, Mandalay Region.

On August 20, a new conscript named Yan Naing Lin from Infantry Battalion (405) based in Tharyar Chaung defected to PDF Battalion (2) in Dawei District, bringing along one firearm.

It was learned that Yan Naing Lin and five of his friends had each paid 1.7 million kyats to a broker named Lin Htet in order to go to Thailand. However, the broker instead sold them to the conscription recruitment program in Mottama.

Afterwards, he was sent to training at SAC’s Training School No. (7) in Taung Twin Gyi Township. He was then deployed to Infantry Battalion (405) in Tharyar Chaung, and eventually assigned to ground operations, from which he managed to escape and defect.

Similarly, on September 13, Thaw Zin Aung, a new conscript from Infantry Battalion (315) under Division (99) based in Meiktila Township, surrendered without arms to the Salin Pa La Pha (temporary).

It is reported that he had completed Conscription Batch 16, and while working at a rice mill in Salin Township, he was arrested in a forced portering sweep and pressed into military service as a conscript.
