🚩🚩 1. NUG Defense Minister U Yee Mon says a nationwide general offensive will create a turning point in the revolution
On September 10, in an exclusive interview with PVTV News, U Yee Mon, the Defense Minister of the National Unity Government (NUG), spoke about the current state of the revolution and the plans for a nationwide general offensive.
“We understand that if we want to create a turning point in the revolution, this is an unavoidable task that must be done. We are already in a position with the conditions and circumstances that allow us to do this. Now, the People’s Defense Force (PDF) has been organized and deployed nationwide, and our allied ethnic revolutionary organizations are also engaging in continuous battles in their respective areas. The most important thing is that we will be able to move forward in coordination. I firmly believe this,” he said.
U Yee Mon pointed out two major losses suffered by the military junta:
- The collapse of military ideology, and
- The deep disgust of the people toward the military.
He reiterated that all revolutionary forces have collectively rejected the idea that the military should have a leading role in politics, and therefore they will not accept the 2008 Constitution, the NCA (Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement), peace talks under that framework, or junta-run elections.
He added that it is no coincidence that the people now call the junta’s troops “military dogs”. Because of their inhumane and brutal acts, the public can no longer accept them as a national military institution.
“This is a military without dignity, without integrity. They have lost their spirit, morality, and discipline. Day after day, they bomb the people, burn down villages, behead and slaughter civilians cold-bloodedly. The people now clearly see this terrorist military for what it is. And the people are determined that living under the rule of such an inhumane terrorist army is no longer possible,” Defense Minister U Yee Mon said.
