In the intensified offensive operations launched by the coup council to seize control of the Asia Highway and the towns of Kawkareik and Kyundoe, some of the junta’s frontline troops have been found to be using stimulants and narcotic drugs. According to frontline sources cited by KIC News, these soldiers have been recklessly attacking without any protective cover, displaying signs of drug-induced behavior.

The junta’s advancing military columns are conducting daily battles along the routes of Kyundoe–Inn Gyi–Kyun Baing village, Kawkareik–Hlaing Sein–Mi Chaung Inn, the Asia Highway section from Kaw Nwe to Ta Tan Kuu, and the Thayne Nyi Naung–Kwin Kalay route.

It is reported that the junta’s indiscriminate shelling has resulted in civilians being killed by falling into wells, paddy-field canals, and irrigation ditches after being struck by artillery fire.

These junta offensives are being countered by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and allied revolutionary forces through ambushes and guerrilla assaults, inflicting significant casualties on the junta forces and forcing them into repeated retreats on a daily basis.

From September 1 to 5, in the four battlefronts of Kyundoe, Kawkareik, the Asia Highway, and Thayne Nyi Naung, the operations were directly overseen and commanded by deputy commanders, regional commanders, strategic officers, and column commanders from the Military Operations Command Headquarters (MOC-12).

In addition to ground offensives, the junta is also carrying out disproportionate attacks using Y-12 bombers, drones, heavy artillery, and missile systems, according to the same sources.

The New Mon State Party (Anti-Dictatorship) / Ramanya Mon Army (NMSP-AD/RMA) has called on the entire Mon population not to participate in the upcoming election staged by the military junta, which would only prolong the military slave system. In its statement on September 5, the group also urged all Mon political parties not to harbor expectations from this sham election but instead to join the people in opposing it.

According to NMSP-AD/RMA’s statement, the junta’s election is nothing more than a sham designed to overcome its political and military crises and to seek international legitimacy.

Furthermore, the statement said this election is aimed at reviving the 2008 Constitution, legitimizing military dictatorship, and extending the military slave system—while exacerbating domestic conflicts rather than resolving them.

NMSP-AD/RMA declared that any political parties or individuals who choose to participate in this election will be regarded as entities that work to revive the 2008 Constitution and prolong military dictatorship.

The group affirmed its commitment to oppose and dismantle the junta’s sham election through multiple means, and clearly stated that elections will not be accepted in territories under their control or areas where they operate.
