🚩🚩 5. Former Military Captain Exploits Women for Sexual Gain Disguised as Civilian

Radio NUG

According to a statement released by AAMIJ, former junta Captain Aye Min Tun has been disguising himself as a civilian and exploiting women for sexual gain.

Aye Min Tun previously served as a company commander in a military police unit in Yangon. Due to financial misconduct and complaints filed against him, he was transferred to Pulaw Township in Tanintharyi Region, and eventually forced to resign from the military.

He later became involved in various illicit activities, including illegal foreign currency trading, bribery for promotions, smuggling of fuel, and acting as a broker for casinos such as BOB KTV and UFO Casino in Mandalay.

He reportedly carries both a retired captain ID card and a civilian identity card, moving around cities such as Yangon, Mandalay, Taungoo, Nay Pyi Taw, Pyin Oo Lwin, Muse, Taunggyi, Namh San, and Sagaing, pretending to be a civilian and mingling with the public under false pretenses.

In 2022, he cohabited with a woman from a military community, later moving alone to an apartment in Pubbathiri Township, while also working as a tender agent in Muse and Nay Pyi Taw. In August 2022, he lured a young female bank employee in Mandalay, deceiving her with promises of marriage, and maintained a relationship with her for about three years.

When the woman eventually uncovered his true background and threatened to expose him publicly and file a case with the police, Aye Min Tun fled from Yangon.

It was further reported that he also sexually exploited another young woman working at a KTV in Mandalay.

Although he offered 60 million kyats in compensation through lawyer U Myo Min Oo to close the case of the young bank employee, she refused. In retaliation, he allegedly posted her photos and defamatory, degrading comments about her on social media.

Additionally, Aye Min Tun reportedly denounced women he had conflicts with, falsely accusing them of being supporters of the People’s Defence Force (PDF), and passed this information to junta networks, leading to their arrests.

He even attempted to arrange the assassination of one woman who had been his victim, by supplying information to a local resistance leader, though the attempt was unsuccessful.
