📌📌 2. KTLA (Kyar Linn Yaung Sar Kapo Army Battalion) Urges People to Resist the Junta’s Sham Election by Peacefully Refusing to Vote

September 23

The Kyar Linn Yaung Sar Kapo Army Battalion – KTLA has called on the people to strengthen the revolution by peacefully refusing to vote in the sham election organized by the military junta.

KTLA urged the public on September 23 to reject the junta’s fake election, stressing that this act would be a clear demonstration of the true democratic will of the people of Myanmar.

The battalion declared unequivocally that the junta’s planned election is nothing more than a ploy to legitimize its 2021 coup. It emphasized that such actions are a suppression of the people’s democratic mandate expressed in the 2020 election.

Furthermore, KTLA pointed out that amid ongoing war, human rights violations, and military rule, it is impossible to hold a free and fair election.

Therefore, KTLA urged the people to stage a nationwide boycott by peacefully refusing to vote, stressing that staying at home and not going to polling stations would be the strongest rejection of the junta’s attempt at legitimacy and would stand as the highest political victory for the people.

While the revolutionary forces will monitor junta activities related to the election and provide security protection, KTLA also warned the people to remain vigilant against junta coercion.

KTLA appealed to the international community to stand firmly on the side of truth and justice.
