📌📌 4. Karen National Police Force (K.N.P.F) commemorates the 34th Anniversary of Karen National Police Force Day
September 9
Radio NUG
The Karen National Union (KNU) — Karen National Organization, Dooplaya District, announced that the Karen National Police Force (K.N.P.F) commemorated the 34th Anniversary of Karen National Police Force Day on September 9 with a brief ceremony.
According to the statement, the K.N.P.F within Dooplaya District, Brigade 6, has been primarily carrying out activities such as ensuring public safety and security, preventing crimes in advance, and handling criminal cases in accordance with Kawthoolei customary law and legal practices.
In 2025, ongoing activities include crime-prevention programs to strengthen the rule of law in Kawthoolei territory — registering reckless drivers and testing for drug use, maintaining records of locally made firearms, documenting migrant workers from outside the region, implementing drug reduction and prevention programs in response to community demands, and taking appropriate enforcement actions when necessary.
As one challenge, the K.N.P.F highlighted that, due to the current lack of strong rule of law in Kawthoolei territory combined with wartime conditions, narcotics are widespread and illicit business operators are taking advantage of lawlessness. This situation creates open channels that hinder policing and investigative operations.
Therefore, in order to raise political awareness among the people and increase public understanding of Kawthoolei legal practices, the K.N.P.F is cooperating with Community Legal Volunteers (C.L.V) to implement community education programs. These initiatives aim to provide legal knowledge directly to the people.
The K.N.P.F emphasized that in order to strengthen the rule of law in Kawthoolei, KNU leadership, the Karen National Liberation Army (K.N.L.A), the Karen National Defense Organization (K.N.D.O), all allied forces, and the entire public should cooperate with and support the Karen National Police Force to the best of their ability. This appeal was made by Major Saw Nyien Chan, Commander of the Dooplaya District K.N.P.F, according to the statement.

📌📌 5. SAC’s Election Commission abolishes four political parties, including NDF led by Daw Sandar Min
September 9
Radio NUG
The Election Commission of the military council announced that it has abolished four political parties that were preparing to contest in the election organized by the military regime.
The parties dissolved include the National Democratic Force (NDF), the Democratic National Party (DNP), the Women’s Party (Mon), and the Union Farmers and Workers Force Party.
The reason given for the abolition was that these parties failed to comply with the stipulated requirements regarding the number of members and the opening of party offices, leading to the cancellation of their registrations.
The NDF was a party founded by former members who broke away from Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy (NLD). The NDF had declared its support for the election to be organized under the leadership of Min Aung Hlaing.
Some NLD members, including former NLD MP Daw Sandar Min, had defected to the NDF and prepared to contest in the election organized by the military.

The selection committee will set criteria accordingly and review applications.
Those selected will gain opportunities to study, train, and collaborate with The Next Step Project to acquire practical entrepreneurial skills and successfully run small businesses in their respective new environments and living conditions.
