📌📌 1. NUG Ministry of Human Rights says the terrorist junta has intensified airstrikes after extending its emergency rule to entrench power
September 4
The Ministry of Human Rights under the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that the terrorist military junta, which continues its nationwide acts of terror, has escalated airstrikes with greater intensity after extending its emergency rule in an attempt to consolidate its grip on power.
This statement was issued in reference to the airstrikes carried out by the junta between January and August of this year.
It was highlighted that in February, when the junta extended its emergency rule for the seventh time, the number of airstrikes surged dramatically to as many as 436.
The announcement further noted that this escalation of violence reflects the junta’s efforts to maintain its illegitimate power through intensified acts of terror.
In April, a period already marked by devastating earthquakes, the number of airstrikes reached a record-breaking 508—the highest monthly figure on record.
Furthermore, even in July and August, when the junta was preparing to hold its illegal election, airstrikes did not decrease but instead rose again to 493.
The NUG Ministry of Human Rights has systematically documented the casualties and damages caused by these airstrikes, which deliberately targeted civilians in order to secure the junta’s illegitimate hold on power.
