🚩🚩 1. Non-CDM education staff en route to election training in Ye arrested on Thanbyuzayat–Ye highway; made to sign pledge, later released to families

The Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) announced that security checks are being conducted by the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF) and Ye People’s Defense Force (YPDF) units — operating under the MSFC Defense Department — along the Thanbyuzayat–Ye Highway No. (8) to ensure the safety of travelers.
The statement said that resistance forces had obtained lists of Non-CDM government staff who were to take part in the upcoming junta-organized elections in Ye Township. During inspections on the morning of August 14, four Non-CDM education staff traveling to attend an election training organized by the military council were apprehended.
The MSRF and YPDF officials detained the four individuals for about 24 hours for investigation. On August 15, they were released to their families after being made to sign a pledge stating they would no longer participate in or be involved with the junta’s elections.

🚩🚩 2. Over 40 junta troops killed as resistance forces ambush military convoy in Monywa; 1 soldier captured along with weapons, ammunition, 12-wheeler truck, and motorcycle

On August 10, resistance forces under the command of the Monywa District Operation Commander launched an ambush against a military convoy and accompanying infantry column departing from the Northwestern Regional Military Command in Monywa, Sagaing Region.
According to reports from the Butalin Township Allied Column, at least 40 junta soldiers were killed in the clash. One soldier was captured alive along with:
- 1 MA-1 assault rifle
- 4 magazines
- 82 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition
In addition, a 12-wheeler truck and one FZ motorcycle were seized.
Participating in the operation were:
- Butalin Township Allied Column
- Ayadaw Township People’s Defense Force (PDF)
- Ayadaw Battle Groups 9, 10, and 11
- Monywa District Strategy Unit 66
- PLA forces
- Galon Force based in Depayin Township

🚩🚩 3. Around 20 junta troops injured in ambush by resistance forces in Shwebo Township

On August 13, a column of around 150 junta troops departing from Hinthargyi Pyu Village, Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, came under an ambush by people’s resistance forces as it entered Pulei Thwe Village in Wetlet Township.
The People’s Comrade Defense Force (PCDF) reported that the junta troops retreated back to their original departure point after the attack.
The ambush resulted in around 20 junta soldiers being injured. Resistance forces also seized some weapons, ammunition, and related equipment.
This operation was jointly carried out by:
- No. 2 Shwebo District Drone Force
- No. 2 Shwebo District Battalions (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 17, and 23)
- M.Sai.Naw Drone Group
- People’s Comrade Defense Force (PCDF)
- Thitseik Battle Area People’s Defense Force (PDF)

🚩🚩 4. In Nyaung Lay Pin District – Junta forces set up gates to extort money and fire heavy weapons into villages

In KNU (Karen National Union)–controlled territory, Kaw Thoo Lei Administrative Area, Nyaung Lay Pin District, Leiktho Township —
On August 12, 2025, at around 2:00 p.m., Soe Aye Htoo Soe (age 20) from Tone Tan Ta Village was stopped near the Penzalope railway overpass at a checkpoint set up by junta forces beside a Buddhist monastery. The military council troops detained him and extorted money, forcing him to pay 100,000 kyat before releasing him, according to a KNU central office statement.
In addition, within Leiktho Township:
- August 7, 2025, 11:40 p.m. — Junta forces from LIB-264, based in Penzalope, fired one 120 mm heavy mortar toward Taung Khin Village. It landed in U Pe Toe’s sesame field near the new ward in the west of Taung Khin Village.
- August 9, 2025, 11:40 p.m. — Junta forces from Pain Nwel Kone fired two 120 mm heavy mortars, which landed and exploded in farmland near Nam Zalay Village.
- August 10, 2025, 12:30 p.m. — LIB-264, based in Penzalope, fired one 120 mm heavy mortar, which landed and exploded near Thamine Inn Kone Village.
Similarly, in Saw Hti Township:
- From August 9, 2025, 6:15 p.m. to 9:48 p.m., junta forces from IB-20, based at Yay Phyu Kan, fired seven 60 mm mortars which landed and exploded in Gway Kone Village and Kauk Myet Thu Village.
- On August 13, 2025, 8:30 a.m., junta forces from IB-598, based in Phar Baw Village, fired one 81 mm mortar, which landed and exploded near Than Man Zar Yat Village.

🚩🚩 5. In Moe Koke Town — Junta aerial bombing kills 21 civilians

In Taa’ang region, within the 4th Military Region, east of Moe Koke Town —
A junta airstrike using a fighter jet killed 21 civilians and injured 7 others, according to a PSLF/TNLA statement.
On August 14, 2025, at 8:30 p.m., a junta aircraft dropped one 500-pound bomb on Lin Yone Kyaung Monastery in Shwe Ku Ward, east of Moe Koke Town. The attack killed 16 women and 5 men, injured 2 women and 5 men, and destroyed 15 houses that were hit by bomb fragments.

🚩🚩 6. A sergeant from LIB-50 defects with weapons and ammunition

A soldier holding the rank of sergeant from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 50, based in Gangaw, Magway Region, defected on August 8, 2025 to the Yaw Region Defence Force’s local military command office.
He brought with him:
- One MA-11 assault rifle
- Three magazines
- 71 rounds of ammunition
- Two walkie-talkies
The local command office stated that the defector will be given protection in accordance with its regulations and will be rewarded 300,000 kyat.

🚩🚩 7. Pakokku District Local Battalion (1) holds its 2nd regular training graduation, Kyaukme District Special Task Force holds 4th basic military training graduation

On August 4, 2025, in a location within resistance-controlled territory in Pakokku District, Magway Region, the Local Battalion (1) of Pakokku District held its 2nd regular training graduation ceremony.
The training was attended by five revolutionary forces that had also participated in the 1st regular training:
- Earthquake People’s Defence Force
- Thu Rain (TR)
- Hunter Pakokku
- Six Senses Guerrilla Force
- Justice Revolution Force
Additionally, two other forces joined in the 2nd regular training: Red Fighter and the Pakokku Township People’s Defence Team.
A total of 70 male and female fighters from seven revolutionary forces participated in the 2nd regular training, which lasted 45 days. The course included:
- Military training
- Administrative training
- Two Codes of Conduct (CoC) modules
- People’s War strategy
- Military leadership training
The training organizers expressed special thanks to:
- Instructor Pawar from the Myoing People’s Defence Force (PDF)
- Military instructors from Myoing PDF
- Administrative instructors
- A female instructor from the Pakokku Township PDF office
- Each and every trainee
It was announced that future regular training courses will be open to participation from any revolutionary force.
Similarly, the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government (NUG), the People’s Defence Force (PDF), and the Kyaukme District Special Task Force also held the graduation ceremony for their 4th basic military training course.
