📌📌 1. CRPH urges unwavering unity as the most powerful weapon to dismantle the military dictatorship
August 9
The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) has called for continued, unwavering advancement towards the eradication of the military dictatorship, stressing that unity is the most powerful weapon capable of delivering the people to their shared goal.
This call was made in a message marking the 77th Karenni National Resistance Day.
According to the historical account, on August 9, 1948, the AFPFL government invaded Mya Le (Manla) village—where Karenni State Council Chairman Khuen Bitu Ree resided—prompting the Karenni people to take up arms in defence. That day has since been designated as Karenni National Resistance Day, now commemorated for 77 years.
The CRPH message praised the courage and steadfast spirit of the Karenni people, who fought for national equality, self-determination, and independence, calling their bravery an exemplary model.
It emphasised that the revolutionary spirit, passed down through generations, remains a decisive force to completely uproot the common enemy—the military dictatorship. The CRPH expressed confidence that the Karenni people’s firm stance and persistent struggle will soon lead to victory.
Speaking as the parliamentary representative body, the CRPH affirmed that together with ethnic brothers and sisters from diverse historical backgrounds and all revolutionary forces, they will expel the military dictators and build a federal democratic union that guarantees full equality.
The CRPH further urged all revolutionary forces to maintain unity in this critical moment, to be politically alert and aware of the junta’s efforts to sow division and weaken their strength, and to keep marching forward without retreat towards the shared goal of ending military dictatorship.

August 9
The Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) has urged the Karenni people to join hands with all other ethnic groups—politically and militarily—in the fight to dismantle the military dictatorship and to build a future federal union.
The call was issued in the KSCC’s message for the 77th Karenni National Resistance Day, observed today.
According to the message, August 9 marks the 77th anniversary of the Karenni people’s struggle against successive military dictatorships for independence, a fight that has cost countless lives, blood, and sweat. It is a day to remember and honour the fallen martyrs throughout history.
The message described Karenni National Resistance Day as not only a day that deepens the Karenni people’s appreciation for freedom and equality, but also one that imparts lessons in upholding the federal spirit.
The KSCC reminded that to truly honour this day, Karenni people must continue to intensify their resistance struggle. It urged them to work together with all other ethnic groups in both political and military spheres to advance the cause of equality long sought by all nationalities.
Historical records state that Karenni National Resistance Day originated from the defence mounted by Karenni people on August 9, 1948, when the AFPFL government invaded Mya Le village, the residence of Karenni leader Khuen Bitu Ree.

August 9
The Student Union of Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, has urged residents in Wetlet Township and adjacent areas to strictly follow the instructions of local revolutionary forces, as junta troops are currently conducting military operations in the area.
The Union issued the alert today, citing that junta forces have been using considerable manpower to launch offensives within Wetlet Township and neighbouring townships.
The advisory urged residents to comply with relocation orders to safe zones issued by local defence groups, to prepare bomb shelters to protect against airstrikes and heavy artillery, to stockpile essential food supplies in advance, and to keep important documents in ready-to-carry emergency bags.
It also advised residents to keep mobile phones fully charged and to avoid staying in potentially targeted areas, as junta troops may move in over the coming days.
Currently, junta forces stationed in Madaya are firing howitzers toward the eastern banks of Wetlet Township and the Minwon mountain range, while troops positioned in Panya village of Madaya Township are continuously shelling nearby villages. Locals are reportedly fleeing to safety as a result.
