Following the dismissal of 12 workers from the King Kong Group (KKG) restaurant in Samut Prakan District, Thailand, representatives from the NUG Ministry of Labor and the Migrant Humanitarian Assistance Coalition (MHAC) met with the affected workers on July 14, 2025, to learn more about the situation.

During the inquiry, it was revealed that the restaurant owner informed the employees that the establishment would close the day after their final shift and that they should not return to work—effectively ending their employment. When the workers requested compensation and unpaid wages, the employer reportedly responded that it would not be possible to fulfill those demands.

As a result, on July 15, 2025, the NUG Ministry of Labor and MHAC jointly filed a formal complaint at the Samut Prakan District Sawadikan Office on behalf of the workers. The complaint seeks rightful compensation for damages, outstanding wages (equivalent to one and a half months of salary), and official documentation supporting the workers’ right to change jobs (pink card endorsement documents).
