The shells exploded near personnel quarters and other areas of the battalion base.

Two DKBA members were killed, while more than 20 family members, including women and children, were reportedly injured.

The injured were transported to Kyauk Khat Hospital in DKBA-controlled territory for treatment, with some reportedly suffering serious injuries.

The DKBA has not yet issued an official statement regarding the shelling. However, a source said there was anger over what was described as an unprovoked attack by the military.

The shelling also forced civilians at the nearby Palaw Tapo displacement camp to evacuate to safer areas.

3. Four civilians killed in attacks in Ayadaw, Launglon and Wetlet

m.CDM, August 18

Four civilians were reportedly killed in air and artillery attacks by Military Commission forces in Ayadaw and Wetlet townships in Sagaing Region and Launglon Township in Tanintharyi Region.

On August 17, two suicide drones launched from Shwebo Training Unit No. 8 reportedly attacked flood-affected Kaung Thit village in Ayadaw Township. The attacks, conducted between approximately 6:46 a.m. and 6:51 a.m., reportedly killed one woman.

Resistance groups have urged civilians to remain particularly vigilant against airstrikes and artillery attacks, saying Military Commission forces have been targeting civilian villages even where there is no active fighting.

4. Eight gold miners, including women, were killed at the scene, while many others were injured, according to local residents.

The Military Commission has reportedly conducted continuous airstrikes against at least five villages in Pinlebu Township since August 16. An airstrike on Kin Pan village on August 16 reportedly killed four people, including women and children, and injured 13 others.

Heavy rainfall has also caused flooding across Pinlebu Township, inundating bomb shelters and leaving civilians facing even greater difficulties amid the continuing threat of airstrikes.

5.
