{"id":9865,"date":"2026-08-05T09:04:30","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T02:34:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/moemaka.net\/eng\/?p=9865"},"modified":"2026-08-05T09:04:30","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T02:34:30","slug":"august-5-2026-m-cdm-domestic-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/moemaka.net\/eng\/2026\/08\/august-5-2026-m-cdm-domestic-news\/","title":{"rendered":"August 5, 2026 (m.CDM Domestic News)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hello and welcome to today\u2019s m.CDM domestic news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today\u2019s headlines include calls for the release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners, demands for Min Aung Hlaing\u2019s arrest during his Thailand visit, airstrikes on Ngapali, and reports of growing junta defections near Myawaddy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heavy airstrikes on Ngapali<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The military reportedly used three fighter jets and one Y-12 aircraft to drop nearly 60 bombs on civilian areas in Ngapali, Rakhine State, on August 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two civilians were injured, while around 20 homes, buildings and bungalows were damaged. Losses were estimated at more than 300 million kyats, according to the Arakan Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Airstrikes, shelling and village burnings<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Junta forces carried out air and artillery attacks in Myaing, Wetlet and Kyondoe townships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than 200 homes in seven villages in Myaing Township were reportedly burned between early July and August 2. Air attacks were also reported in Wetlet, while artillery shelling damaged a civilian home in Kyondoe Township.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CNO\/CNDF removes chairman<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CNO\/CNDF removed its chairman after he met junta representatives in New Delhi without approval from the organization\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group said the talks did not represent its official position and reaffirmed its commitment to ending military dictatorship and establishing a federal democratic union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More junta soldiers reportedly defect near Myawaddy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Black Panther Column said junta forces have suffered heavy losses during fighting around Myawaddy, while more soldiers are surrendering or defecting to resistance forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group accused the military of using advanced drones, fighter jets, heavy weapons and chemical bombs. It said defectors and prisoners of war were being treated according to military rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Robbery suspects and alleged drug dealer arrested<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Four men accused of robbing a house in Launglon Township were arrested, along with the homeowner, who was later accused of selling WY stimulant tablets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities seized 500,000 kyats, 230 WY tablets and four mobile phones. Legal action is being prepared against all five suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"6\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Calls for Min Aung Hlaing\u2019s arrest in Thailand<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Burmese Rohingya Organisation UK called for Min Aung Hlaing to be arrested during his August 6\u20137 visit to Thailand and extradited to Argentina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BROUK filed a genocide case against him in Argentina, where an international arrest warrant was reportedly issued in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Justice For Myanmar also condemned Thailand\u2019s invitation, saying it grants legitimacy to the military junta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NUG welcomes ICRC meeting<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Unity Government welcomed the private meeting between Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the ICRC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It said the meeting resulted from public and international pressure, not military goodwill. The NUG stressed that the visit cannot replace the demand for the unconditional release of all political prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"8\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ASEAN urged to re-engage with Myanmar<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thai Prime Minister Anutin called for phased ASEAN re-engagement with Myanmar and described the ICRC meeting with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as a positive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights warned against granting legitimacy to the junta and called for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and more than 22,000 political prisoners to be released immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"9\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Britain demands immediate releases<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The British government said the ICRC meeting provided confirmation that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was alive, but stressed that this was not enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Britain called for her immediate release and the release of everyone unjustly detained in Myanmar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"10\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Warning leaflets distributed in Pakokku<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People\u2019s Embrace and the People\u2019s Defence Force distributed leaflets in Pakokku District warning young people about forced military recruitment and porter seizures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They said those forced into military service could safely defect and contact People\u2019s Embrace for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That concludes today\u2019s m.CDM domestic news program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the latest news, please subscribe to our channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello and welcome to today\u2019s m.CDM domestic news.
