Four Junta Troops Killed, Weapons Captured in Mahlaing Clash<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">m.CDM | July 11<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Resistance forces say four junta soldiers were killed and six firearms, including an RPG launcher, were captured during fighting in Mahlaing Township, Mandalay Region.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to Battalion 1 of the Myingyan District People\u2019s Defense Force, the battle took place on June 12 after around 100 soldiers from Light Infantry Division 99 advanced from Mahlaing. Joint resistance forces attacked the column between Pan Ai and Kyauk Twin villages using drones and small arms.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The fighting continued for about two weeks before the junta troops reportedly retreated into Pan Ai Village, abandoning bodies, weapons, ammunition and supplies.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">During post-battle clearance operations, resistance fighters recovered four bodies of Division 99 soldiers along with one RPG launcher, one MA-2 rifle, two MA-1 rifles, two MA-3 rifles and ammunition.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The operation involved several PDF battalions from Myingyan and Meiktila districts, along with local Pa Ka Pha units.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2e3b<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">2. Airstrike on Gwa Kills Four Civilians, Including Toddler<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">m.CDM | July 11<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Arakan Army (AA) says a junta airstrike on civilian areas in Gwa Township, Rakhine State, killed four civilians, including a three-year-old child, while two others suffered serious injuries.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The attack took place on the morning of July 10, when aircraft bombed a school in Pauk Tu Village and residential areas in Kalar Chaung Village.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Those killed were identified as a three-year-old boy, two 54-year-old residents, and a 30-year-old man. Earlier strikes in Kyaikto and Bilin townships reportedly killed one worker, injured several civilians and damaged homes and vehicles.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2e3b<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">5. Junta Drops More Than 25 Bombs on Kanpetlet and Mindat<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">m.CDM | July 11<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Local sources say junta aircraft carried out 16 bombing runs over Kanpetlet and Mindat in southern Chin State on the morning of July 11.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">A Y-12 aircraft reportedly conducted six bombing runs over eastern Kanpetlet before carrying out another ten over eastern Mindat, dropping more than 25 bombs in total.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Damage assessments were still unavailable by early afternoon.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The airstrikes come as heavy fighting continues between the Chin People\u2019s Army (CPA) and junta forces, which have deployed around 2,000 troops in the region. Military Informant Dies During Arrest; Two Junta-Appointed Administrators Shot Dead<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">m.CDM | July 11<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">In Kawthaung Township, Tanintharyi Region, a former police officer accused of acting as a military informant died after reportedly attempting to escape while being arrested by local resistance forces.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The People\u2019s Defense Force said he had been accused of helping the military arrest civilians and of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Separately, two junta-appointed village administrators in Singu Township, Mandalay Region, were shot dead on July 8. Local residents accused them of collecting money under the military conscription program, passing intelligence to the military and assisting attacks on nearby villages.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">No group has claimed responsibility.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2e3b<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">7. Village Militia Member Killed in Ye Township<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">m.CDM | July 11<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">A village militia member was killed after soldiers opened fire in Asin Village, Ye Township, Mon State.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to local reports, six militia members were patrolling on motorcycles when they encountered soldiers conducting searches inside the village.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Witnesses said the soldiers ordered them to stop, but when they continued riding, troops opened fire. A militia member in his twenties was killed at the scene, and soldiers reportedly took away his body afterward.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The following morning, around 30 junta troops returned to the village and met with the victim\u2019s family.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u2e3b<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">8. AFCC Reports Abuse of Political Prisoners at Obo Prison<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">m.CDM | July 11<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Anti-Fascist Coordination Committee (AFCC-Mandalay) says prison authorities at Obo Prison are committing serious human rights violations against political prisoners.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to the group, officials entered prison wards on July 2, confiscated and destroyed prisoners\u2019 belongings, then beat inmates who protested.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Three political prisoners identified as protest leaders were transferred to different wards, while others remain under close monitoring.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">AFCC says at least 15 political prisoners were assaulted and also warned that inadequate medical care inside the prison is placing inmates\u2019 health at serious risk.
