We will now present m.CDM\u2019s domestic news.<br>Today\u2019s headlines include: the KIA\/KIO says the military commission is talking about peace while launching heavy offensives on the ground; 13 junta soldiers were killed in an attack on a military convoy on the Katha\u2013Nabar road in Sagaing; the Shan Youth Network condemned the MNDAA for allegedly expanding territory and oppressing civilians in northern Shan State; and Facebook has removed more than 100 military-linked business and propaganda accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fighting may intensify in southern Chin State; KIA says junta uses \u201cpeace\u201d as cover<br>The Chin People\u2019s Union\/Chin People\u2019s Army warned that the junta is reinforcing troops in southern Chin State, where around 1,000 troops are already deployed. Fighting has continued around the Chin\u2013Magway border, Yaw region, and Pondaung-Ponnya areas. The junta has reportedly carried out more than 40 airstrikes on Mindat, Matupi, and Kanpetlet, causing civilian casualties including children.<br>KIO\/KIA spokesperson Col. Naw Bu also said the military leader\u2019s 100-day \u201cpeace and ceasefire\u201d announcement has not been matched by actions on the ground. Instead, the military is conducting major offensives in Bhamo, Shwegu, Waingmaw, Hpakant, Indawgyi, and along the Mandalay\u2013Myitkyina strategic route.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Junta suffers losses from FPV drone attacks in Bhamo and Shwegu<br>In Kachin State\u2019s Bhamo and Shwegu areas, junta troops have reportedly suffered heavy casualties from FPV suicide drone attacks by revolutionary forces. One attack in Bhamo\u2019s Sinkone ward on April 16 killed at least five soldiers. KIA spokesperson Col. Naw Bu said the KIA is sharing drone technology and production knowledge with allied groups as much as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thirteen junta soldiers killed on Katha\u2013Nabar road<br>KIA and PDF joint forces ambushed three junta vehicles near Pinmalut village on the Katha\u2013Nabar road on May 24, killing 13 soldiers and seizing weapons and ammunition. Because fighting is intense in Katha District, local authorities warned civilians not to use roads around Htigyaing, Katha, Indaw\u2013Nabar, Mawlu, and Nantsiaung.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>KNLA attacks two junta positions in Moo Township<br>In KNU-controlled Moo Township, KNLA Brigade 3, Battalion 8 attacked two junta positions on May 22 and 23. At least six junta soldiers, including a sergeant, were killed, while the KNLA reported no casualties. Eleven rifles, ammunition, helmets, bulletproof vests, grenades, radios, and other military equipment were seized.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More than 7,000 newly displaced in Kyaukphyu; three women killed in Kyaikdon airstrike<br>In Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, fighting near the Taung Maw Oo naval base has displaced more than 7,000 additional civilians. With previous IDPs included, around 50,000 people are now displaced in the area and urgently need shelter and food before the rains.<br>Separately, in Kyaikdon, Karen State, a junta jet bombed civilian homes on May 24, killing three women and seriously injuring two others, including a 16-year-old girl. Houses and a car were also destroyed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fighting in Launglon; five civilians used as human shields<br>In Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, clashes on May 24 killed three junta soldiers and wounded many others. The junta column reportedly detained five villagers from Gawt Inn village to use as human shields. Residents from several nearby villages have fled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Forty-nine civilians rescued during capture of Thayetkan Pyu Saw Htee camp<br>Myaing People\u2019s Defense Team said revolutionary forces captured the Thayetkan Pyu Saw Htee camp in Magway\u2019s Myaing Township after a 24-hour offensive from May 22 to 23. Despite at least 40 junta airstrikes, the resistance seized weapons and rescued 49 civilians, including women and children, who had suffered under Pyu Saw Htee control for five years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shan Youth Network condemns MNDAA<br>The Shan Youth Network condemned the MNDAA, accusing it of expanding beyond Kokang areas, mismanaging administration, suppressing locals, forcibly changing local identities, seizing farmland at low prices, allowing gambling and KTV businesses, arresting protesters, and forcibly recruiting civilians. The group urged the MNDAA to respect democratic and federal principles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sagaing Federal Unit CDM Civil Servants Council appoints new executive committee<br>The Sagaing Federal Unit CDM Civil Servants Council held an online ceremony on May 24 to appoint its 2026 executive committee. NUG Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe and representatives from federal, CDM, and revolutionary organizations attended and gave remarks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mingin administration says SRF members will face action<br>The Mingin Township People\u2019s Administration Team announced that members of the Student Revolutionary Force will be arrested and prosecuted for allegedly ignoring NUG guidelines, forming parallel administrative structures, interfering in public administration, education, health, and rule-of-law work, and committing unlawful arrests, killings, and forced recruitment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facebook removes over 100 junta-linked business and propaganda accounts<br>Justice For Myanmar said Facebook removed 109 accounts, pages, groups, and profiles linked to military-owned businesses and propaganda networks after JFM\u2019s complaint. These included Mytel and MECtel sales networks, as well as accounts spreading MRTV and MWD propaganda.
