From now on, we will present m.CDM domestic news.<br>Today\u2019s news includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CRPH and Magway Federal Unit parliament representatives hold an online meeting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PNLO\/PNLA says there is no split between two forces, explicitly rejects the NCA, and says it will cooperate for genuine peace.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Military junta troops preparing to set up an ambush on the Salin\u2013Kanpya road section are attacked with mines, with casualties reported on the military side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revolutionary forces urge local people to be especially cautious of ground military columns and airstrike threats, as more than 1,000 junta troops are reportedly stationed at KaPaSa-22 in Chauk and Seikphyu.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CRPH and Magway Federal Unit parliament representatives hold online meeting<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and representatives from the three parliaments of the Magway Federal Unit held a meeting via video conference on the morning of May 17, according to a statement.<br>During the meeting, CRPH Chair U Aung Kyi Nyunt and the chair of the Magway Federal Unit Parliament delivered opening and greeting remarks. The current activities of the Magway Federal Unit Parliament were also explained.<br>They also encouraged committees to coordinate and cooperate on future work plans, exchange advice, and continue regular discussions.<br>The meeting was attended by the CRPH chair, secretariat members, CRPH members, Union parliament representatives from the Magway Federal Unit, the unit parliament chair, vice chair, and representatives.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SCEF, Magway Federal Unit Parliament, and interim government hold coordination meeting<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>The Steering Council for the Establishment of a Federal Democratic Union (SCEF), the Magway Federal Unit Parliament, and the Interim Magway Federal Unit Government held an online coordination meeting on May 16.<br>The meeting was attended by SCEF secretariat members, council members, and other officials. From the Magway Federal Unit side, attendees included the chair of the Magway Federal Unit Parliament, Interim Magway Federal Unit Government Prime Minister Dr. Ye Tun Zaw, Deputy Prime Minister U Chit Win Maung, ministers, and other officials, according to the CRPH.<br>At the meeting, SCEF secretariat joint coordinator Salai Ram Kulh Cung gave opening remarks and explained the purpose of the meeting. Magway Federal Unit Parliament Chair Daw Htay Htay Hlaing also delivered greeting remarks. Officials from both sides gave brief presentations on SCEF\u2019s activities and ongoing work within the Magway Federal Unit.<br>Because SCEF was established with three pillars, discussions included the Magway Federal Unit\u2019s participation in the pillar representing states, federal units, and EROs, as well as future coordination matters.<br>The meeting concluded with remarks from Magway Federal Unit Prime Minister Dr. Ye Tun Zaw and SCEF secretariat coordinator Dr. Zaw Wai Soe.<br>SCEF also held online coordination meetings with the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament and interim government on May 13, and with the Mandalay Region Parliament and Mandalay Interim Governance Council (MIGC) on May 14.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PNLO\/PNLA says there is no split, rejects the NCA, and pledges cooperation for genuine peace<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>The Pa-O National Liberation Organization\/Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLO\/PNLA) stated that reports claiming the force has split into two groups are completely false. It also said it explicitly rejects the so-called NCA peace process and will continue cooperating in the Spring Revolution for genuine peace.<br>The statement was issued on May 17 after a five-day Central Committee plenary meeting, No. 08\/2026, held from May 11 to 15.<br>The meeting was attended by the chair, vice chairs, and central committee members. They reportedly reviewed the current political and military situation in detail before issuing their future plans and policy positions to the public.<br>PNLO objected to some media reports citing an ISP Myanmar report and referring to \u201ctwo PNLA forces,\u201d or describing a PNLO led by Colonel Khun Okkar and another PNLO led by Colonel Khun Thurein. PNLO said these descriptions are completely inaccurate.<br>PNLO said Khun Okkar, Khun Myint Thein, and Nan Yin Yin Soe were permanently expelled from the organization in October 2024 for violating PNLO\u2019s basic principles.<br>It said they may only appeal at the next congress, and stressed that PNLO\/PNLA remains one organization and one army. It requested media outlets to correct inaccurate reporting.<br>PNLO\/PNLA also said it completely rejects the military junta\u2019s so-called NCA peace process and will continue to cooperate in the Spring Revolution to build a new federal democratic state and achieve genuine peace.<br>It also said it will actively cooperate in efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to war-affected people and to establish a strong, broad, and representative leadership for the entire revolution.<br>On another matter, PNLO said that on April 24 and 25, a PNO\/PNA militia group under the military commission, led by Bo Aung Din, used monks and local elders to deceive Khun Tan and his members into surrendering.<br>After the surrender, 61 members were unlawfully arrested and taken away, contrary to the agreement. After discovering the deception, Khun Tan and remaining members fought back against the PNO militia and returned to seek refuge with PNLO\/PNLA.<br>PNLO said it will continue to take responsibility for their safety and protect the image of the Pa-O Second Revolution.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BPLA announces successful construction of uniform factory<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>The Bamar People\u2019s Liberation Army (BPLA) announced through BPLA-Venture that it has successfully built a uniform factory with public support.<br>The factory was reportedly built starting in February 2025 through the labor of BPLA comrades.<br>It is now producing not only uniforms but also military backpacks, PT shirts, and military caps.<br>The uniforms produced are first being supplied to BPLA comrades, and later the group plans to sew uniforms for allied forces as well.<br>BPLA expressed special thanks to A Nya Ta Ya and to every individual donor who supported the factory project.<br>BPLA-Venture also announced the results of the fundraising campaign marking BPLA\u2019s fifth anniversary, which fell on April 17.<br>Although the campaign originally aimed to raise 200 million kyats, it received 107,362,423 kyats, or 53.68 percent of the target, due to current hardships faced by the public.<br>Although the target was not fully reached, BPLA said the public\u2019s continued support and the amount raised were extremely valuable to the army.<br>BPLA pledged to carry forward the strength and trust given by the people and continue the revolutionary journey with stronger and firmer steps.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attack on military convoy heading to Tanintharyi LIB-561 leaves five soldiers dead and one vehicle damaged<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>Myeik District Battalion 2 reported on May 17 that five junta soldiers were killed and one vehicle was damaged in an attack on a military convoy and road security team heading to Light Infantry Battalion 561 in Tanintharyi Township.<br>At around 11 a.m. on May 14, revolutionary forces ambushed four vehicles near Chauk Mile village: two stone trucks carrying junta soldiers, one trailer carrying a road roller, and one vehicle carrying fuel barrels. The convoy was traveling from the Bodhi Kan bridge area toward LIB-561.<br>All four vehicles stopped after the attack, and one stone truck was completely destroyed.<br>Afterward, clashes continued between junta forces providing security along the Banlaw junction, Chauk Mile village, and Langu junction route, and comrades from Myeik District Battalions 2 and 3.<br>Five junta soldiers were killed in the fighting, while revolutionary fighters suffered no casualties.<br>At around 3 p.m. after the clash, comrades from Myeik District Battalions 2 and 3 fired three 60mm mortar rounds at junta troops near Chauk Mile village. After 6 p.m., they also fired two 81mm mortar rounds at junta troops near Langu junction.<br>The battalion said there may have been additional junta casualties from the mortar attacks, but the number has not yet been confirmed.<br>Military tension remains high in Tanintharyi Township, and local revolutionary sources say the junta has been conducting military column movements.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artillery fired from Hpakant strategic hill falls on house, killing three women<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>In Hpakant Township, Kachin State, an artillery shell fired by the military commission from a strategic hill landed on a house in Ward 4 of Lone Khin village tract and exploded, killing three women.<br>Starting around 11 a.m. on May 17, junta troops reportedly fired heavy weapons indiscriminately at villages. At around noon, one shell directly hit and exploded on a house.<br>Twenty-year-old Ma Maw Maw Sein died at the scene. Sixty-year-old Daw Khin Win and 72-year-old Daw Pone died on the way to hospital.<br>Five other local residents were seriously injured and were taken to Hpakant Hospital by social assistance groups.<br>Although there have reportedly been no ground clashes in Hpakant Township for about four days, the junta has frequently attacked civilian areas with artillery and drones.<br>Due to current military tension, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has closed the Hpakant\u2013Kamine road. With the junta reinforcing troops, fighting may intensify further.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AA joint forces launch offensives on junta bases in Yegyi and Padaung; fighting intense in Mobye and Bhamo<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>In Yegyi Township, Ayeyarwady Region, the Arakha Army (AA) and PDF joint forces reportedly entered and controlled parts of the junta\u2019s Artillery Battalion 344 on May 15.<br>Although they managed to bypass outer security posts and enter the battalion compound, junta forces carried out heavy airstrikes throughout the night, forcing the allied forces to temporarily withdraw. They are reportedly continuing offensives to fully capture the base.<br>Similarly, in Padaung Township, Bago Region, AA forces reportedly defeated junta troops who had advanced through trench routes toward Nyaung Kyo village in the Yoma area on May 14.<br>The junta troops reportedly retreated with heavy casualties, and revolutionary forces are now surrounding Point 500 hill, a key outpost of KaPaSa-16 nearby.<br>On the southern Shan\u2013Karenni border, KNDF and allied forces resisted junta troops advancing from inside Mobye town to the outskirts, reportedly killing about 10 soldiers.<br>Since May 13, junta troops have been advancing from the town toward the outskirts, while Karenni revolutionary forces have surrounded the town, leading to intense clashes.<br>As junta forces suffered losses in ground fighting, they carried out airstrikes and burned villages along the Mobye\u2013Loikaw road, forcing local residents to flee.<br>In Kachin State\u2019s Bhamo town, fighting continued on May 15 near the five-mile Computer University area between junta Battalion 933 and KIA joint forces.<br>The junta is reportedly supplying weapons and rations by air into Bhamo MOC-21, while also gathering thousands of troops in Shwegu and preparing to advance toward the Sinkhan area in Bhamo Township. Fighting may intensify further.<br>In Hpakant Township, three junta columns from Division 99 and Division 33 have also advanced, and KIA joint forces are resisting them.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Junta troops preparing ambush on Salin\u2013Kanpya road attacked with mines<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>Minbu District Battalion 5 announced on the morning of May 17 that junta troops preparing to set up an ambush on the Salin\u2013Kanpya road section in Salin Township, Magway Region, were attacked with mines and may have suffered many casualties.<br>The junta troops were conducting military movements in Salin Township and attempted to take positions in advance so their column could pass through. Minbu District Battalion 5 and the urban UG group Kyar Pauk jointly carried out the mine attack.<br>A group of 30 junta personnel, including soldiers, police, and Pyu Saw Htee members, arrived from Kanpya by vehicle and began positioning near a barrel-mine field set up by revolutionary forces. The mine was detonated at that moment, causing likely heavy casualties.<br>Because the junta is conducting military movements in Salin Township, Minbu District Battalion 5 warned people using the Salin\u2013Kanpya road not to travel together with junta troops, and not to transport junta personnel, weapons, ammunition, or rations in their vehicles.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Junta conducts another airstrike on Kanpetlet<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>Local sources and airstrike monitoring groups said the junta carried out another airstrike on two locations in Kanpetlet town, Chin State.<br>The attack was reportedly carried out at 5:15 p.m. on May 16 by a jet fighter that took off from Tada-U Air Base.<br>One of the bombs dropped by the junta exploded near the BCM church, while the location of the other bomb is not yet known. Details on civilian casualties and damage to homes or buildings are also not yet known.<br>The junta has been carrying out repeated airstrikes on Kanpetlet Township. According to airstrike monitoring records, on May 12 it bombed the area twice with a jet fighter and attacked six times with cluster bombs from a Y-12 aircraft.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revolutionary groups urge civilians near Chauk and Seikphyu KaPaSa-22 to beware of ground columns and airstrikes<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>Revolutionary forces have urged local civilians to take special precautions against ground military columns and airstrike threats, as more than 1,000 junta troops are reportedly stationed at KaPaSa-22, based in Chauk and Seikphyu in Magway Region.<br>On the afternoon of May 16, a 20-vehicle military convoy from Seikphyu arrived at KaPaSa-22 at 4:45 p.m. Around 7 p.m., another convoy of more than 30 vehicles also arrived there.<br>Including the 30 vehicles that arrived in late April, there are now nearly 90 military vehicles inside Seikphyu KaPaSa-22, according to We Love Myaing.<br>We Love Myaing also estimated that around 30 military vehicles from Division 99 in Meiktila had arrived in Chauk on May 16 and may proceed to KaPaSa-21 and KaPaSa-22 in Seikphyu.<br>The troops from those convoys may launch military columns into Seikphyu, Pauk, and the Yaw region. We Love Myaing urged people living near KaPaSa-21, KaPaSa-22, Pauk Township, and southern Yaw to stay alert and closely monitor military column news.<br>The civil society group Ah Nyar Myay\u2013Myaing estimated that the more than 1,000 troops at KaPaSa-22 could advance into Pauk and Myaing townships, or reinforce the Saw area. If they move into Pauk and Myaing, the group said the first military advance would likely target oil field areas.<br>Therefore, oil field workers, villagers near oil field areas, and residents of Pauk and Myaing townships were urged to be especially cautious about ground military columns and airstrike threats.<br>\u2e3b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shwebo District Battalion 2 appeals for support for \u201cShweBo\u2019s Comeback\u201d campaign<br>m.CDM, May 17<br>Shwebo District Battalion 2 has appealed for public support for the \u201cShweBo\u2019s Comeback\u201d campaign to replenish food and medical supplies needed by frontline comrades.<br>Since December 24, 2025, the battalion said it has been trying to protect local civilians from military columns advancing from Singu and Madaya toward Shwebo from the east bank of the Ayeyarwady River, from LIB-12 based in Kyaukmyaung, Shwebo Township, and from a joint column from LIB-13 in Sagaing town.<br>Those junta columns have reportedly been in Wetlet Township for months, and the battalion said it has long been resisting them day and night.<br>As the rainy season approaches, frontline fighters are in need of supplies.
