1. Fierce fighting between Tedim and Thantlang; airstrikes kill civilians including children<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n
Heavy fighting is ongoing between junta forces and Chin resistance joint forces near Letpan Kone and Akluai villages between Tedim and Thantlang in Chin State.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Around 200 junta troops reportedly advanced from Thantlang toward Tedim as reinforcements. Clashes began on May 2 with joint forces including PDF-Zoland and CDF CDM Siyin, and continued into the morning.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Gunfire has been \u0932\u0917\u093e\u0924\u093e\u0930, and the junta has provided air support using jet fighters, reportedly attempting to seize Kennedy Hill base held by PDF Zoland.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Due to the risk of urban fighting, most residents of Tedim have fled to nearby villages and toward Kale in Sagaing Region.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
On May 2, a drone strike by Infantry Battalion 269 targeted a fuel station near the Tedim entrance sign, killing a 13-year-old boy, Tg. Lian Muan Kim, who had been helping at the shop.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Earlier, on May 1, two 500-pound bombs were dropped on Khaupi village in Falam Township, killing 7 people (including 6 children) and injuring 8, with at least 10 houses destroyed.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

2. Attack on junta checkpoint in Kyaukpadaung Township leaves 7 soldiers dead<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Resistance forces attacked a junta checkpoint in Myothit Chaung, Kyaukpadaung Township, Bago Region, killing 7 soldiers, according to Battalion 3801, Company 5.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The attack occurred around 10:51 AM on May 3 using small arms. The operation was carried out by the Kyaukpadaung HERO guerrilla unit under Battalion 3801.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
No casualties were reported among resistance fighters or civilians. The public has been warned to avoid proximity to junta forces.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

3. 11 PDF members killed in ambush in Taungtha Township<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, 11 members of a local PDF column (Min Thar Gyi column) were killed in an ambush.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Around 9 AM on May 4, 13 PDF members traveling by vehicle into a village were attacked by junta troops lying in wait.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Losses included weapons (3 MA-1 rifles, 1 MA-3), a 60mm mortar, ammunition, body armor, and one vehicle.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Junta forces reportedly burned the bodies of the fallen fighters. Two surviving members remain unaccounted for.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The column had recently separated from Myingyan District Battalion 3.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

4. Suu Foundation: Suu Kyi\u2019s house arrest is \u201cdiplomatic hostage-taking\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Suu Foundation stated that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi\u2019s transfer to house arrest constitutes diplomatic hostage-taking by the junta.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
While welcoming improved humanitarian conditions, the foundation stressed the urgent need for proper healthcare and access to family members and legal counsel.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Detained since the 2021 coup, she has been sentenced to 27 years in prison on multiple charges.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The foundation called for the unconditional release of all political prisoners, stating that genuine national reconciliation cannot be achieved otherwise.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

5. 42 LPDF groups call for Suu Kyi\u2019s release and vow continued resistance<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A coalition of 42 Local People\u2019s Defense Forces (LPDFs) in Magway Region issued a joint statement calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

They welcomed the release of President U Win Myint but criticized the continued detention of Suu Kyi as politically insincere.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
They pledged to continue fighting alongside ethnic allies under the Magway Federal Unit Government until federal democracy is achieved.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n
ACNFC emphasized her essential role in resolving Myanmar\u2019s crisis and building federal democracy.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

8. Junta preparing major offensive toward Kyaukhtu, defectors say<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

10. Indaw authorities order shutdown of Starlink services amid fighting<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Due to renewed fighting, the Indaw Township People\u2019s Administration under the NUG has ordered temporary shutdown of Starlink internet services.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The junta reportedly retook control of Indaw on April 30 after launching a large-scale offensive.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
