\u2018Colourful Burma\u2019 (1976) was my grandma\u2019s famous book in the history of all time. The book was reprinted again and again until now. She wrote traditional Burmese styles, cultural things, and Buddhism in the book. Grandma used famous phrases, words from poems, and plays from English literature. She devoured English Literature since she was young. Although grandpa was an English teacher, he could not write as grandma do. But he helped grandma, and gave assistance whenever grandma needed.<\/p>\n

In 1996, \u2018Burma\u2019 and \u2018Burmese\u2019 were no longer permitted to use in our country. They had to be changed to \u2018Myanmar\u2019. At that time, I saw my grandparents were not happy for those changes. They did not want to change the name into \u2018Myanmar\u2019. I perceived there were grandma\u2019s books were included \u2018Burma\u2019 or \u2018Burmese\u2019 in the paragraphs, as well as the titles of the books.<\/p>\n

For those changes, grandma was disappointed. Here, grandma needed grandpa\u2019s help. They two were discussing days and nights for how to fix the problem. \u2018Colourful Burma\u2019 must be changed to \u2018Colourful Myanmar\u2019. They considered the name without \u2018Myanmar\u2019 which would be more beautiful and more powerful than \u2018Colourful Burma\u2019 or \u2018Colourful Myanmar\u2019. Later, they gave up. They simply changed to \u2018Colourful Myanmar\u2019.<\/p>\n

For her another book \u2018Anawrahta of Burma\u2019, the name had to be changed \u2018Anawrahta of Myanmar\u2019. They too considered having a more beautiful title. Later they got it! (Eureka!) \u2018King Among Men\u2019 appeared as their chosen title in place of the old name \u2018Anawrahta of Burma\u2019 in 1996.<\/p>\n
